I can think of a few 1950's through 1970's Pontiacs that could fire up in half a click even after sitting 6 months. This is progress? It might be more of a result of banning the PCB oil that older coils used effectively.

I sure don't miss the dealership life! When I left the Chrysler dealer in 2016 all this was just starting to happen. The manufacture just had to announce the problem right away. They didn't have to have the parts available. It was extremely stressful dealing with upset customers because of this!

All manufacturers need a class action law suit on this stuff, or a law that says these safety recalls have to be repaired or a loaner provided within a week. Might incentivize manufacturers to be maintaining better parts inventories and or not changing out parts needlessly from year to year. Fuel pumps and fuel injectors, no need to modify them too often. Keep the same part for 5 or 10 years when you can, there has been hundreds of thousands if not millions of these dodge pickups sold and this one couldnt be fixed for 2 years? Lemon laws needed.

This MIGHT work, but they companies have too much power. They have their lawyers and lobbyists is to stall the required action.

They don't keep the same part for any length of time. That's why they ask for the VIN when you need parts, they have made a change in the part. They buy the cheapest, easiest supply, quickest supply to handle their requirements.

All about the mighty $$$, nothing to do with customer service.
