Just getting around to my airbag module in my 98 Silverado, the computer that controls the airbags, located under the driver seat. I replaced the airbag and sensor but the module needs a reset/replacement.
Dealer says they dont sell new modules, discontinued by GM. They say they cant reset the old module that was triggered in the accident when the airbag deployed but if I buy a used unit, they can reprogram it.
I see companies online offering to reset the old already triggered unit so it can be reused, does anyone know of one of these services in Canada that is reputable? I see a few but none that I recognize.
I figure just as well to use my old module and get it reset than find a used one that may or may not work and then have that reset?
Thanks for any help.
