What's going on with the inside of this 65 Biscayne Trunk Lid?


There's a 65 Biscayne for sale here in PEI. This photo of the trunk lid has me puzzled. Check out all these holes cut in the inner stamping. An attempt at creating a lightweight?

To me it looks like an outer skin was applied to the original under belly.

A lot of adhesive used.

 I think so too. It looks like that was the best way to fasten the new skin to the old inner structure.
