I have Hurst Heritage book that I thought was a great reference. Out of print now, I was stunned when I saw one change hands for $700!

I'm trying to figure of this is a sign that the world has gone nuts.

there are some VERY opportunistic amazon sellers;
take outrageous pricing with a grain of salt for sure.

many books which went out of print around 2020 skyrocketed in "value" - but I'd suggest that the number of sales pales in comparison to the number of listings...

There are a good number of listings where people see a market gap, and list stuff sky high;
During covid Taco Bell hot sauces on Amazon.ca (at the time available in bottle form at state-side Walmarts (ect) for $2/bottle; in mild, hot, and fire flavours) were up to roughly $50/bottle... 

In my opinion, they are still high, but at least they are not upwards of $50cnd/bottle.
