Impala gas tank in a Pontiac

Has anyone installed the 1966 impala gas tank in a full size Pontiac WITHOUT changing the NECK. I realize there is a bit of a curve in the Pontiac thats  not in the Chevy.

Hopefully Dano65 sees this. It seems to me he said he did it?

Is there a reason you don't want to put in the correct Spectra tank for a 66 Pontiac?

Not quite. The problem I ran into was when putting the 65 Pontiac frame under my 65 Impala, I had to change the rear crossmember, as the Pontiac one wouldn't work with the Chevy fuel neck. Had to put the Chevy crossmember on the Pontiac frame.

Glad you saw this, thanks for the clarification. I knew I remembered you telling us about something you did with Chev/Pontiac tanks.

So as long as the rear crossmember and tank are made for the same vehicle all should be good regardless of whether it's Pontiac or Chevy.

What model of Pontiac are you intending on putting the 65 Impala fuel tank in?

I'm betting it's this car that he bought last fall.

I seem to remember when I was looking for a sender for my 66 Bisc there was a company in Quebec (Spectra?) that had tanks cheap (so I thought at the time, Covid) along with senders....
Google....

Well....I wouldn't say that for sure. The Chevy has bumper bolts behind the license plate, that wouldn't line up with the Pontiac crossmember. I'm not sure what the Pontiac bumper has, but likely the same situation?
