OEM looking and new style rear drums

Looks like 10 bolt and 12 bolt brakes are all the same on the 1969 B-bodies.

I have a set of drums that are the newer style without the double lip on the inner side.

The original double lip drums will need blasting and turning.

Other than cost, was there a big difference between the two ?

Problem solved !

Machine shop said the originals were already oversized.

The new style ones had original specs.

They just took 1/1000s off to clean up the rust.

Note, no adjusting holes in the newer style drums.

No adjusting holes? I thought those punch-outs were necessary for access to adjust the star wheel after setting up new shoes.

Drum brakes were once super common but are now relegated to antiques cars, making them a low volume specialty item. I wonder who makes brake drums now? The communist Chinese?
