Definitely cool, with the Military Spec front end. You'll find many different makes back then that look the same on the front end. During the war GMC's 2½ ton 6x6 was the vehicle of choice, while Chevrolet did the 4x4 1½ ton. Now combine the GMC six on a Chevrolet & sell it as a Maple Leaf, which they did.

I was in Google maps last night and looked around a friend's lake & trails where there was an abandoned 1941 Chevy 1½ ton 4x4 cab that I remember in the late 70's to mid 80's. I couldn't zoom in much but it looks like the cab is still there off the main trail. I've seen bears there so... As I remember the cab was solid but people had taken a .22 and riddled it.
The guy's uncle (who lived on the property and would be 115+ were he still alive) had a bunch of war surplus spare GMC sixes in wooden crates sitting around the property, maybe 248s (270s are a bit later). Sitting outside while inside crates may have made them junk, but who knows?
