66 Pontiac ad

When I visited Don (BigDreams) yesterday he gave me this ad. Pretty cool.

Nice ad for a sweet car, just curious what the sports option is, does that mean big block?

As I go watch the Red Skelton Hour lol.

Oh it must mean custom sport, never mind.

As far as I know, the Sports Option was A51 which turned a Parisienne into a Custom Sport. Basically it just gave you buckets, console and some Custom Sport badges on a Parisienne.

That is a really neat old newspaper ad. Those things tend not to survive. I used to have tons of old ads & even the new car introductions that would fill the newspaper every September 21st, but it all disappeared during one cleanup.

The Impala SS generally was a different model # than the Impala, but for 1966-only the SS was the A51 Sports Option on an Impala. The Custom Sport was the same thing in '66.

Yes, and from what I understand that was unique to the Canadian 66 Impala SS. The US  was a separate model, not just an A51 option.
