Canadian Pontiacs are like Rodney Dangerfield

They just can't get no respect.

There's a discussion on a US Pontiac Facebook group about Rick Yackimec's 409 Custom Sport and how inferior 409's are to US engines.

I was obligated to point out in 1965 the US cars had us outpowered but not in 1966!

Pretty much my exact thought but there was no sense in me replying any further to someone who KNOWS a 421 HO never lost on the street to anything.

1963and 64 strato chief could have had the 425 HP 409, before the 66 Carl.

Yes but I didn't get into that because they already stating what a loser engine the 409 was (but we certainly don't all share that thinking!)

Never lost a street race in a big American 2+2?  Must have been picking his opponents carefully...

My lips are sealed. But you and I might share some thoughts on that, yes!

I'm thinking L79 Acadian/Nova, L78 Chevelle and that's only 1966 GM models. Wasn't even thinking about a 427 Fairlane, maybe a hemi Mopar etc.

But as Cam said, bench racing will never die.

Hard to believe these mature older men all acting like children.

Not forgetting to mention how much heavier the US Pontiacs are compared to the Canadian version.

Show your 421 buddy this one Carl. The guy who built it used to post on here and sold it to the fellow in the video. There is another built 409 in a 61 Chevy that has cracked 9 seconds- it has 3 pedals. Last I heard it was also street legal.
