Color restrictions
(Preview)
My car is Starlight Black with a Cameo White top; I saw a 1969 Impala on the web with that same scheme and they were guessing that such a color scheme must have been Canada-only, implying you couldn't get that in a US Impala. That struck me as an odd thought - there weren't color restrictions at all were the...

1969 boosters should be gold cad, correct?
(Preview)
Looking at a hidden/preserved part of my 1969 booster it looks to have been golden cad plated originally, so I will have it polished and replated with that process as well. I just wanted to make sure that this wasn't a service replacement or something and the originals were black in 1969. Thanks!

Rally wheel colors
(Preview)
Anyone think I'll get away with using any of these powdercoat options as an "Argent Silver" standin? If not, and I want to topcoat it with the right color, how hard it is to scuff and shoot on top of powdercoat like that? -- Edited by davepl on Friday 16th of March 2018 12:36:22 PM

Nice rear end!

I don't know who this belongs to but it sure is nice, clean, and detailed! Supposedly an L36 car, I wonder if those are the "correct" resonators?

1968 Grande Parisienne auto trans question.
(Preview)
My 1968 Grande Parisienne has the 396 engine and surprisingly only a two speed auto (console shift). I bought the car from the original owners, so I know most things about it, but am curious as to whether or not it might be a fairly low production number out of the 1296/1294 made because of the large en...

1969 Available Ratios
(Preview)
Looking in the parts book, for 1969-70 the available ratios were: 2.29, 2.56, 2.73, 3.07, 3.31, 3.55 Most Turbohydramatic cars were 2.73 and Powerglide cars were 3.07. M20 cars were 3.31. But that leaves 2.29, 2.56, and 3.55. Does anyone know how one would have obtained those ratios? The "Access...

I need a pair of 1969 front fenders!
(Preview)
My fronts are pretty rotten. Body shop recommends replacing rather than repairing. Since they can come off anything Canadian (two door, convertible, wagon, four door, ambulance, doesn't matter), shouldn't be =too= hard to locate. Only catch, of course, is that I'm down in the US so it can be more...

Since we didn't get these up in Canada, I figured not many of us have seen them, so am posting a good detail photo of one I have. Wish we had them in Canada!

What wears with the key, the cylinder?
(Preview)
For a 1969 with the key in the column: Normally by the time these cars are 50 years old (or even a lot less) the ignition key can be removed while ON and you have to jiggle the key to cancel the door buzzer, all of that. Is that the ignition cylinder, or what's actually wearing in? I can put a new lock cylinder...

1969 LS1 vs L36 air cleaners
(Preview)
I didn't want to monkey with my nicely patina'd original air cleaner lid, since the decals aren't properly reproduced. So rather than restore it, I'll set it aside, but I still needed a lid. So I grabbed an Impala 335hp automatic unit off eBay just for the lid (if you have a use for the base, let me know)...

Who sells carpet? Dale @ NOS?
(Preview)
I know someone does here, but I've forgotten the username - for now all I need is a half yard to cover the console. Just Dashes is restoring the console and needs it. It should, of course, match the '69 four speed bucket seat carpet that I will also buy! Dale, if you spot this, can you email me at dave@davea...

Column Rehab
(Preview)
On my GMC I rebuilt my original column myself, as the non-tilt columns are pretty simple. On the truck one there was an upper and a lower bearing, which seemed to be the wear parts. On the car I can only really spot a lower bearing. What else should be replaced as a wear item inside a steering column at res...

Who can restore a console plate?
(Preview)
Presuming no one has an NOS four speed 1969 console plate they're eager to sell, I need to restore mine... looks like one too many power shifts from the previous owner). Does this look damage that your average chrome plater could restore or is this pot metal special? It's off at Just Dashes and they sa...

I was looking for body mount hardware, and in the "tub of mystery" I organized some important looking fasteners into groups. Can anyone help me flesh out or correct the list? A - B - C - D - Rad/core support? E - F - Cowl plug? G - H - I - J - Front bumper suppoer

1969 Police Car?
(

)
(Preview)
Has anyone ever seen one, even a US-based Catalina? I found a picture but I think it's from a movie, not even a real car. In the US there was even a special speedometer with an oil pressure gauge (at least a part is listed in the catalog). In Canada the assembly manual talks about how to reverse the washer...

65-70 four speed disc brake pedal
(Preview)
Is it not reproduced? I haven't checked Camaro stuff yet, but no on lists them on the Impala side. You can get narrow brake pedals, and you can get wide "Disc Brake" pedals, but not the narrow "Disc Brake" pedals that I can see.
