Rare Parts
(Preview)
I'm sure others have their own little gems, and I've love to see them. Here are the ones I've found today while unboxing the 2+2... btw what's the right shifter knob for an M-20 car? Shouldn't have a shift pattern on it because the console does, so I imagine it's plain, but black or silver, I have both? ...

How to determine what's missing
(Preview)
So as I face the grail/basket-case/2+2, part of what makes this so daunting is that it was taken apart 20 years ago, pieces are missing, and there's no fasteners! I have all the big pieces (doors, fenders) squared away, now I need to go through EVERY piece of the car and figure out what I have and what I'm m...

Will the real Matador Red please stand up?
(Preview)
Looks like this car has been painted at least four times and they didn't agree each time on what was really Matador Red. I'm trying to figure out what the original is. This is from an area under the engine emblem. I like the vibrant, blood red of #3. I don't like any of the surrounding colors that all hav...

Who was cdnpont on Cardomain?
(Preview)
I ran across a series of 60 or so posts from "CDNPONT" on CarDomain, but can't tell who that maps to here. Is it still cdnpont? Or Todd? What ever happened to the convertible in question, did it get finished?

Someone was parting out a 2+2 in BC...
(Preview)
A few weeks back someone was parting out a 1969 2+2 in BC. Said they were going to build a 4x4 out of it. Now I've lost the ad... does anyone recall it? Didn't sound like he had much, but there were a few things I should now check on. If someone saved it, please let me know. I thought I did!

Looking for a 1969 Parts Car (2-door, non-rusty) - Leads?
(Preview)
I posted in WTB as well, but am hoping to catch the folks here that don't actually have one so wouldn't look there, but might know of one. I'm looking for a non-rusty 2-door 1969. If it were a convertible 2+2, all the better, but I'm not going to hold my breath on that one I don't care if it's a 250cid six c...

Carb Encoding
(Preview)
I say encoding rather than decoding because I need to figure out what the numbers -should- be if I had the right carb. Pretty sure I have a Canadian Tire reman or similar in place of the original Q-Jet. Here are the specifics, if someone can help me work backwards towards what carb I need, great! 1969 427...

1969 Factory Photo
(

)
(Preview)
My ride-height in my coupe is way off and I keep trying new springs... soon I'll be cutting Nova springs if I can't get the back end to settle down! But while I was looking around for references, I found this factory photo that I thought shows what ride height was expected to be in the day, so I thought I'd p...

How to ship a quarter panel?
(Preview)
I need rear quarters, and if I find them, they won't be local. But most sellers list such large stuff as "local pickup only" because, let's face it, shipping large stuff is a hassle. I've heard that FedEx will actually pick up and CRATE your item for you, and read on another forum of a user doing that for a...

Dumb question - 69 and 70 rear quarters
(Preview)
Except for the cutout for the marker light, is the rear quarter in a 1969 the same as 1970? I was looking at them and from memory, couldn't spot any differences. I've found good solid 1970 quarters, wondering if welding up the marker light was all it took to make them into 1969s...

Scored an NOS dash, still need a '69 grille and a driver's tail light
(Preview)
I found an NOS dash this morning, and even though I really only needed the aluminum part, I haven't seen just the aluminum for sale for years so grabbed the whole dash. $250 for the curious, but it's the first one I've seen in many years. I have NOS heater controls as well so it should really rejuvenate t...

Has anyone used a customs broker to ship a car across the border?
(Preview)
Apparently, I have to find a customs broker to ship the car I'm importing Edmonton->Seattle. I've got some phone numbers and will start cold calling, but at this point I don't even know what the "Customs Broker" does, besides clearly take some kind of fee for the privilege of me moving something a...

My 2+2 is in Beaumont
(Preview)
I just noticed it on the Map, and thought that was funny. Never even heard of Beaumont Alberta, but it's fitting! Is that the town the cars are named after, or what's the origin I wonder?

1969 Mirrors
(Preview)
I'm trying to confirm what the original outside rear view mirrors looked like. They seem to be different than the American cars. Here is what I believe is the original mirror on my 2+2, (non-remote). What do you guys think?

Why are all the 2+2s from Alberta? Anyone else from Northgate Pontiac?
(Preview)
It seems like a huge proportion of the 2+2s I've run across, particularly the big block cars, came from Alberta. My own small block convertible 2+2 came from there as does my new big block convertible 2+2. And the one that I saw in Regina and the one I saw in Ottawa both had Alberta plates! Now that I thi...

Correct spatter paint for a 1969 trunk
(Preview)
Anyone have a well-preserved original that still has some? Here's a pic of how my '69 was done, and it looks nice enough, I just don't actually know if it's correct for our cars! And while I'm at it, any dirt on the mats would be good too. Did all trim levels come with trunk mats? What color were the origi...

NOS 1969 taillights
(Preview)
Back when I was restoring my Laurentian (short taillights) it seemed like there was an ample supply of NOS tail lights on eBay, but they were all long (Bonneville, Parisienne) and I needed short (Catalina, Laurentian). Now I need long, and I haven't seen one for months. Is someone hoarding?
