US Models in Canada in 1970
(Preview)
My Dad bought his 1969 Laurentian in 1970 because he couldn't afford a new '70, but my grandfather could... so he got the 70. What's always surprised me though is that my grandfather's car (a green four door, not a keeper) was a US model - I believe a Catalina. They came from the same dealership, so its no...

Why don't 4-speed cars have thermacs? Do they have heat risers?
(Preview)
One part I'm still looking for (69 2+2 427) is the proper air cleaner. From everything I've seen they do not have thermac valves and heat stoves (with the little heat pipe that comes up from the stove to the air cleaner). So I've got this open-element one on there for now, as pictured. So, I have two ques...

Nostalgic

Here's a picture of me and my (long-since departed) Dad changing plates on the car in 1970, when I was 2, and then here's me and my kids doing it 40 years later. Same car, same plate number (first plate was Saskatchewan, current plate is Washington). -- Edited by davepl on Tuesday 25th of October 2011 0...

Another 427 car (1969 Parisienne)

The engine is in far-from-original trim, though I was told it was the original engine. Don't have any other details, just posting for those that find it interesting. - Dave

Dragstrip times?
(Preview)
Anyone ever haul their full-size to the track (please, timeslips, not speculation - we all know it'd run tens if you didn't miss that shift that time )? My best was a 12.9 - though that was with headers, and I've since gone back to factory manifolds, so it's slower now. I saw a magazine review of the '69 Imp...

Who designed the 69 Bonneville (Parisienne)
(Preview)
Does anyone know who was in charge of the design for the 69 Bonneville? I'm actually more interested, of course, in the Canadian version but its largely a modification of the US bodywork to fit our chassis. As far as I know that was Delorean's era, but that's about the only lead I have. Thanks! Dave

427 4-speed Convertible 2+2, 8-Track, Numbers Matching
(Preview)
At least its described that way, and the cowl tag agrees. You can see the air cleaner emblem in the trunk, and it's the original embossed kind, not the reproduction, at least so far as I can tell. Also appears to have factory rally caps in the trunk (even I don't have those!) No, I don't know the current s...

I saw this on eBay a while back, hung onto the photos. Don't know the outcome of the auction, but it does have A31C50LS1M40 so it's a "low" hp, TH400 car.
