Here's a few more pics. I bought my car off the original owner. It was painted in '86 and the motor and tranny were also rebuilt (12,000 miles on them now). Karl had all the paperwork including the protecto plate, original registration, licence plate and even the declaration at USA customs from 1967 when he moved from Calgary to the Seattle area.
The interior seats, headliner, dash pad, and door panels are original and mint. Headliner is white.

Sorry to hijack your post Carl, but it seems like a place for '65 Cansos to hang out!

No apology necessary, Dan! I would say this is a great place to post your info.

White headliner, huh? I don't think I knew that. I wonder what the thought was behind doing that.

im posting from ingersoll ontario. ( about 3000km away ) the reason i am asking is that i grew up there. i moved here about 10 years ago. i was born and raised in langley. i actually lived in mission and aldergrove at some pionts too. i sure do miss the salt free cars and trucks out there. ive had quite a few g-bodys ( about 7 ) and , 70's and 80's pickup's as well. my lemans was pretty rough when i bought it . its been an ongoing project like they all are. ive actually got a 79 malibu , same frame. ive always had a soft spot for these cars. this one im hoping to give it the frame off treatment , and possibly some new fuel injected horse power. maybe an LS1 or a new 6.0 litre possible. oh well , we'll see one step at a time right?

Here's an underhood shot of mine about 10 years ago. I have since ripped out the 427 and am working on making it a 327 4 speed. The 427/TH350 was fun, but I wanted a small block stick to have some real driving fun!

Did you keep the 427 or sell it? My Laurentian is looking for one to match the fender emblems:wink

I'm sorry, it's gone. I sold it to a friends cousin in Alberta. He is cloning a 69 Yenko Chevelle, and apparently it had the right casting number for him.

Ding, ding, ding!!! Good answer! I made a set and intalled them about 20 years ago, because of a little known disorder I have we call "option-itis"!!! Too easy. The next skill testing question will have to be more difficult.

No, never in the first 3 generations of Nova/Acadian.

In 1986 when I built them, there was nothing available aftermarket. I think there is a kit now.

But, I recently saw an even neater idea to just remove the manual gearbox from the stock regulator and replace it with (gasp) a Toyota power window motor!

that sounds like a neat project, i have couple of spare regulators kicking around
would be cool to see the handles turn by them selves and tie it into my remote..
