I bought this 65 about 6 years ago just to have something to tinker with. The first winter in the garage I kept finding hidden rust and problems that were just painted over. What started as fixing a few things turned into a big learning experience. I ended up replacing most of the rear quarters, patching throughout the car and then repainting. All the work I did myself so I had to learn fast. Every year I seem to make some changes and just keep tinkering. I actually took it to the track last year and made a few runs in my Sunday druiser

That is a beautiful Beaumont, Jerry. Some thing to be proud of, especially if you most of the work yourself. Is that the Beaumont Custom?

Nice start. Nothing wrong with that car that a little (or lot) of money and elbow grease can't fix.

Thanks Henry, yes it is a custom. Since owning this Beau I have taught myself how to do everything. I actually enjoyed the whole process. Looking back I think I liked the replacing and patching of the sheet metal the best. Sounds crazy I know but i guess it is the satisfaction you get when you do something yourself and it works out.
It started out as a bench seat, 283 powerglide. After the body was done I had the urge for more power. I swapped in a th350, I found a 12 bolt housing for a 68, shortened it and added ford ends to the axle tubes. I then built a 12 bolt posi, 3.73 gears and bought some moser axles with the ford bearings. 2 years ago I built my own 406sbc. I also found some old bucket seats and redid them. It is a fun ride now. I think in the next little bit I am going to convert to a manual tranny, maybe a tremec 5 speed. I have been on the lookout for clutch pedal setup and linkage.

Jerry

Around 1977, I had this 68.........327/3speed Saginaw/12 bolt posi. It hada  Muncie shifter that was attached to the crossmember not the tranny. When you had it torqued over and went to power shift the linkages would bind up.......Still, it was a great car.

Here is a picture of my 68 SD396 as it looked in 1992. I was told by the guy I bought the car from that it was raced in Quebec from 1976 until it was bought in 1992 and parted out. He bought it to get the side trim for his SD.
The car wasn't rusty but had a lot of extra holes.

Here's my buddy Cal's '67 Beaumont. He added SD trim and a BB hood. It's a #'s 283 pg car, I think it's the 1st convert built in '67 and #6 off the assembly line.

Sure, just shoot me your address. I'll send you my stick, no charge. I've been hitting myself with it for 20 years since I sold my 66 Grande Parisienne 427 4 speed when I got married. Frankly, I'm getting a bit tired of the self abusebiggrin

Bought this beauty new in 1967.  The car that is, not the girl.  The girl is Miss Calgary 2005.  The photo was done for a calendar to promote the Miss Calgary pageant.

Restoration was done by Chris Heighton in Beisker.  He does fantistic work.

Glad to be a member of this forum and I look forward to seeing more cars and members.

Here are a few shots of my 69 Custom... I know... no Vinyl top, anyone think I should have one installed?  Long time in the build... and still going.

Was a cover car for Canadian Classics.

Car is a 400 SBC, 4 spd, Bucket Seat car with front disc, and Global West suspension.
