My '66 Canso

I've had this car since '89. It has the original 283 but I swapped the powerglide for a 4 spd and added the bucket seat interior. It's been in limbo for some time now but I have the green light to get it going now that the kids are all moved out!
First pic is as it was before I started the tear down (rusty upper fenders and lower rear quarters). I have 2 NOS fenders and lots of NOS and mint trim for this car, including NOS SD louvers, headlight bezels, rocker trim, door handles, wheelwell trim (to name a few parts). Should be excellent when done.

Do you have an Acadian 4 speed console for it? I've only ever seen one in real life.

Hi Carl,
My console is off a '67 Nova SS. It's in great shape and has the seatbelt clips. I've only seen 2 of the Acadian Canso 4spd consoles and they were on cars.

That console is a great find, Nova or not. So is that Canso, for that matter. It will make a cool car. If I could find all the 67 SD trim for my 67 Nova SS project car, I'd sure be tempted to make it a Canso. They look SO much better...(sorry Nova guys)!!!

Are you going to do it as a restoration (stock appearing) or a bit of a hot rod?

Carl,
It'll look stock like the '65 Canso I have, I have power disc brakes to add but that's about it for mods. The spinner hubcaps on the '65 will be on the '66 Canso (I have the original '65 caps). It will be a '66 SD cloner, with only 552 made in '66 it will be worth more as a cloner and I like the trim.
I bought the console off a guy in Boise, Idaho for $275usd, thought it was a lot when I bought it (about 7 years ago) but I've since been feeling better about the purchase!

So you finally got motivated to work on the 66 Canso. Maybe a His & Hers?
