How much for a nice original Beaumont 4 door?

Hey guys,

I was just wondering what the consensus is for the value of a nice original 4 door Beaumont would be worth, say from '66 - '69.

After I save some more money I'd like to have another Beaumont (my first car was a 68 Custom 4 door).  Although 2 doors are nice, I find most of them that I've seen are hot rodded, are real SDs or have been cloned into SDs... or the unthinkable... have been turned into Chevelles.  I like SDs but they are priced way out of my range.

Add to that the fact that 2 door prices seem to be quite high, I'm entertaining the possibility of finding a nice 4 door.  I know that most 4 doors have probably been used as donors for 2-doors, but there must be some left out there.  At least the ones left have a better chance of still being original and not hacked or hot rodded.

So, any idea what a nice (preferably low mileage and rust-free) 4 door Beaumont would go for these days?

I sold my 64 beaumont custom 4dr last year.  Super original paint interior, etc. for just under 6000 last summer.  above average original with detailed enginebay.  way under the money for the time i had in it.

most 4dr chevelles seem to be anywhere from 3500-6500 depending on paint quality, engine, and interior originality.  The lower milege most stock ones get the most attention.  Rusted out worn out ones are worth 500 bucks.

Most popular are the very base models such as the chevelle 300 or the base beaumont.Make perfect bigblock sleeper cars.

there was a 65 chevelle 300 4dr sedan 6cyl with new paint but original that sold on ebay for over 7000 last year.

The 66-67 years seem to be the most popular.

Would a big block have been available to 4dr. Beaumont purchasers back in the day. The reason I ask is because my local mechanic worked at Hogan Pontiac when he was younger and tells me about this 4dr. Beaumont with a killer engine that an older couple had and only brought it to the dealer for service. He always clamoured to draw that car for oil changes and what not he says.

Try putting a post in the Canadian Pontiac Cars / Parts Wanted section and see if anyone gets in touch with you. Where are you located?
I agree with you that a lot of 4 doors were used for parts cars. I am guilty of it myself.

That's what I'm thinking of doing when I'm ready, but I don't want to put an ad out until I'm in the position to act on it.

In the reality of it all I'd rather save a little more and get a nice unmolested 2 door hardtop, but I'm wondering if the price difference plus a little nostagia from my first car might be enough to sway me to a 4-door.

A nice original minty-fresh 4-door is much more appealing to me than a ratted out beat up rusty 2 door, if you know what I mean, but if the price difference between a nice original 4-door and a 2-door in the same condition wasn't so much then I'll save a little more for the 2 door.

Supply is probably more of an issue anyways, in that most nice 2 doors have probably gone the hot rod route, whereas I'd prefer a factory stock car even if it had a 6 or 307 (especially in these days of high gas prices) to a cobbled-up hot rod.  Factory emblems, trim, original interior, as well as a stock-appearing engine room are important to me, and unfortunately a lot of the cars I see have had that changed to suit the taste of the owner (nothing wrong with that, but it's just not what I want).  I'm thinking most people with 4-doors woudn't bother to do that...

Thanks for the input, I really do appreciate it.  Oh, and I'm in Nova Scotia... otherwise known as Rust Land.

The two doors are really climbing in value. A friend of mine picked up a 69 2 door with a healthy small block for $5500 last year. It had pop rivet floors and a frame repair. There was rot in the 1/4 panels. He spend about 3 grand on it to make it presentable, parked it at the end of his laneway and sold it for 15 grand!

I was wondering about that car... so would the consensus be that one in similar condition, but a 2-door be about double in price? (hmmm... double in price for only half the doors?... yuk yuk)

FWIW, that car has been on kijiji a couple of times already but it doesn't look like they've had any takers yet... so maybe the price is too high?  Any opinions?

Y'know, other than the funky flame licks on the quarters, that looks a lot better than I thought it could.  Although for my tastes it would look better all black.

Hmmm.... current price $1000 with only 1 bid and reserve not met (11 hours remaining).  Doesn't look like a huge demand for customized 4-doors yet...

Hey MC,

Best advice I can give you is this.   If you find a four door you really like, have it checked out and its not a lemon, its original and the condition is great and can buy it for less than $5000.   Then go for it.

I happen to like all models of Beaumonts.   The rarer four doors to own would be the four door hardtops or sports sedans (same car two different names they're known by).   Started in '66 went till '69.

Does anyone own a 66 or 67 chevelle or beaumont FOUR door hardtop(sport sedan)?  You know, the one with no posts.
I am partingout a 67 sport sedan and have no use for all the specific parts/trim related to the sport sedan, glass, garnish mouldings, rear window trim, headliner trim, etc, etc.  Want to sell it all cheap to someone that can use it.  Prefer local pick up in winnipeg.
Does anyone in wpg area know a guy with a 66 chevelle 4dr ht(silverblue with cragars)?  I see it driving around but can never catch up to it.  Maybe he would like the trim parts.  Just want to see someone use this stuff.

Please do not phone about other parts, but if you need 4dr HT specific pieces, i've got them
thanks
