Carl, it's too bad we didn't meet up. Judging by your photos and the ones I took, I must have been a few feet behind you all day, LOL!
Did you get any shots of the 67 Dark Pewter metallic Beaumont SD that was beside the Acadian wagon? I talked to the owner, super nice guy, he ordered the car new in 67 and completely restored it in 2000. He even showed me where it had "Pontiac" stamped on it, perhaps ending the debate that Beaumonts were not Pontiacs?
In any event, I encouraged both him and the owner of the Acadian wagon to come join us here on the board.

It's not on the frame is it? If you saw my post a while back, I showed a pic of a Beaumont frame with PON stamped on it, and nobody could tell me if that was a 3 letter frame code like some have, or if it actually stood for Pontiac.

I spoke with the owner of the Beaumont for quite a while. As I said, he ordered it new and has had it all these years with a full frame off resto he performed himself a few years ago. He specifically said the colour was "dark pewter metallic" and that it was a one year only colour available only on Canadian Pontiacs in 1967. He ordered every option you could get when you ordered the big block, but he said that meant you couldn't get air, power windows, etc. He said there were certain options that were only available on the custom sport model but weren't available on the SD - BTW, he was working at the dealer at the time, I believe it was in Galt. Here is something neat, he said he tried to COPO order the car with a 427 but they just wouldn't do that with a Canadian Pontiac. I told him if he had known someone at the Oshawa plant he would have had a much better chance of getting the 427 installed and he agreed, he has subsequently heard that from others as well. He had a rock crusher in the car for a while, as well as 3.90 gears, but when he restored it, he put the original M-20 and 3.55 gears back in so now it is pretty well the way it came from the factory. He does have some pretty cool period Stewart Warner gauges mounted under the dash though. He's been to several Chevelle shows in the states with it and says that Chuck Hanson desperately wants to buy the car! I wrote out the website address for him and I'm pretty sure he is going to check us out. He visits mostly Chevelle sites right now and the Canadian Classic Chevelles and Beaumont site. I did take some more pictures of it, including where the PON is stamped on the frame. He said this categorically stood for Pontiac. He appears to know quite a bit about what parts were sourced from which locations for each different plant and model. Can I upload pics directly from my computer to the site or do I need to put them on a photohosting site first and then link them here? If so, any recommendations for a good photohosting site?
