Cool! Funny, I still know people who dress the same as those folks did back in '75!

Ya saw the GP and what about the Biscayne RCMP. The thing about those photos is that they show muscle cars the way they were run and set up back in the day, not at all what we see when we go to cruise ins and shows, lots of non factory wheels and no dog dishes in sight!

How about the Chevelle with Ontario plates. Did someone actually tow that thing all the way out there to run it?

Anyone notice that the pictures taken today, although at first glance they look very close to the old shots, they don't seem to match. The mountains are different. Have they moved since then, lol!

I'm taking his word for it...one shot he is standing in the right lane and in the other the left lane so there is probably an optical perspective issue at play. Maybe the mountains eroded in 33 years like that ?

Those are my photos actually, and they were taken with a 200 mm lens. This enables you to get close, without being close.
I originally posted them in this thread on the Yenko site.

Historic shots that I can't help keep looking at...
Glad someone was there to document it.

That is SO neat!

Highway 23 west of Morris on Sunday afternoons used to be the same, but when the car with the red cherry on top showed up, we all had to leave!

When I look back now, I realise that everything gelled perfectly in Keremeos to allow us to race. We had so much support, and most people were appreciative, and showed that appreciation by being well-behaved at the site, and coming and going.
It was a great time. Now there is racing occasionally at the Osoyoos airport, and I hope to make it down there at least once this year.

When you think of things going wrong, that starter guy (you) DOES look pretty vulnerable...
