I had the radio guy from Brighton do the FM conversion on a 55 Pontiac radio a few years ago. The price was $435.00 with a CD jack. I haven't installed the radio yet as it will be used in a 55 Pontiac stationwagon currently under construction. The 69 emblem was at our booth and is owned by a friend of mine and it did not sell. Sat was a good day but Sunday was a rain out with the weather finally clearing at 3:30 giving us enough time to dry everything out before packing up. Al
Al, I wish I had known it was you, I would have stopped and chatted for longer - we really need to get that Canadian poncho swag!
Earlier in the day two fellows stopped by our spot and were asking for you. I thought you might have known my friend Paul but apparently not. They went to the country store afterwards and had you paged - did you ever hook up?

Yes, I hooked up with them at the Country Store and brought them back to our booth and we had a couple of drinks with them. The older gentleman is from South Africa and this was his first Barrie adventure. He has a 58 canadian pontiac and has visited the site but is having trouble logging on. I was walking the fields this year more than staying at the booth but everybody that looked at the Acadian /Beaumont parts when I was there I informed them about the Canadian Poncho website and I think Todd will have a few new members shortly. We definately need something to get ourselves identified so we can meet each other at a big event such as Barrie. Al
Aha, I thought I detected a South African accent (we have quite a few of them here at work). Well I hope he enjoyed his visit, it certainly is a long way to come for a swap meet! He should have told Haney, might have gotten a free T-shirt or something for the long distance award.

His name is Ronnie Grace and his son is Andrew who works for a hedge fund co. in Toronto. They were both very impressed with the size of the flea market and the amount of cars. Ronnie had never been to any Auto Jumble ( South Africian) terminology so big. He took a couple of memory cards full of pictures and is going to put on a seminar at the next club meet in South Africa. He definatley said going to the flea market was a highlight in his automotive experiences. He has also had a couple of letters and pictures published in Old Autos. My 55 was also featured in Old Autos a couple of issues ago so now it is really famous lol ! Maybe next year we can get together at the beer tent as a group. Al
I saw pots and pans and even kitchen sinks in the gold field where we were. Gold 2N6. We booked our lot for next year so if you did it will be easy to remember where you are if you booked the same spot. Blue 2N6. I found a fan shroud for my wifes 1981 Z28 camaro with A/C for $45.00, a set of 16" chevy truck steel rally rims for $50.00 and a few other small pieces. It is getting harder to find any nos parts anymore. After having discussions with a lot of vendors everybody is now selling any nos parts that are small enough not to cost a fortune in shipping on Ebay. Bigger stuff like wheels and tires, rust free sheetmetal, fenders, trunk lids etc that are not reproduced for the more popular cars are still available in Barrie if you look hard enough. All in all we had a fun time meeting new people, enjoyed the scenery on sat, and got pretty wet inside and out on Sunday. My brother sold a 1956 Buick four door hardtop on Sunday. We always look forward to the fall flea market at Barrie because for us Northerners it is basically the only one we attend annually. Al

Yes, Paul and I are booked in the same spot for next fall, Blue 2N6. I didn't buy any big items this year but last year I got a set of very nice 14 x 6 Honeycomb wheels with Michelin X radials still mounted on them for $100. One vendor had a set of Canadian Pontiac flat caps for the rally wheels for $60. Not perfect shape, but perfectly good for a driver. I basically bought out a guy's collection of 60's sales brochures for about $3 a piece. Included were 62 Canadian Pontiac full size, 67 Beaumont and whole bunch of other desireable stuff ( Novas, Chevelles, full size Chev. ) Paul found a bunch of small NOS stuff, regulators, vacuum parts, brake parts; he filled a small Rubbermate tub with the stuff. At the spring show I found a new in the box Hurst Super Competition Plus shifter for Muncie transmissions from 1968 complete with the original directions, decals, etc. for $200. I agree with what you said, for stuff that is too big or heavy to ship, there are still lots of good deals to be found. Fortunately I bailed on Sat. night so I missed the rain on Sunday!

Thanks Todd, I went to The Earlton Steam Show with the 55 and 2 friends, Paul with his 56 Nomad and Gregg with his 64 Barracuda. Rheal Larose a reporter for Old Autos was there and he took a few pictures of the 55 and asked me a bunch of questions about the car. I informed him the car was Junes feature car on The Canadian Poncho website and a short article I wrote was there. I knew he was going to have the 55 in Old Autos but I was surprised with the number of pictures and the article he wrote. It must be the 55's year for publicity ! Al
