1969 dash install reminder

For anyone reinstalling the dash in their 69 Beaumont be sure to install the left vent duct before pushing the dash into place and installing all of the fasteners.
If you don't you will be pulling all the fasteners except the two end ones on the right and dropping the column to get it in.

The second project car could always be assembled in half the time if it's identical to the first one....

You would think after taking so many of these cars apart and making a mental note at the time I would have remembered. I guess age is reminding me of something else. Always carry a notepad or a camera.

I would say that after looking at those big pics you posted that all your sweat and anguish has been well worth it. The car sure looks great. Makes all those times of taking the same assembly apart 5 times before it goes together the right way all worth while!

I have 1969 4 door sedan, the dash is badly cracked while the rest of the car is in very good condition. Where could I find a dash? Thanks

I think 69 GTO would be the same?  Those should be available from aftermarket suppliers.

Good to see you join,  you have the black 4dr Deluxe right?

The dash on a 4 door must come from a 4 door or a 2 door post. The wing window cars did not have the side vents like a hardtop or convertible. A dash from a Tempest, Lemans etc. will also work but again it must be from a car with wing windows.
For recovering you can contact Just Dashes ($$$$) or an interior shop. The guy that did my interior said had recovered a 68 dash by stretching a very thin vinyl over the existing pad. He said it looked good but I didn't see it. Terry Turner at Turner Auto Trim
