This has been up for a while and he keeps lowering the price.
the 66 strato Chief, if I had the money and space I would have picked it up and put a big block in that.

A few of us saw this car in Ancaster in the spring. I think a big block would twist the body into a pretzel.

LOL, I keep forgetting you have to modify the frames. I thought the frames from these cars could handle that.

How was the condition of that car?

I'm sure the original frame would handle it if it were still solid. This is a typical 1966 Ontario car.
Let me put it this way. You don't have to poke around to find rust holes.

Mike

I had my shorts in a knot over this car early this year. I was very thankful for some members here who looked at it in person and gave me some good advice on it. At that time, I was on a search for a nice solid 2 door post or a Grande Parisienne.

My priorities for payments have since taken a major shift!

It takes a real man to save or build a Canadian Car, anybody can go south and pick up a model that was never available in Canada in the first place and go cruising. It's your choice and your money, my blood is red and white not red white and blue. biggrin

Like Brad said, it has has some "ahem" work done to it.  It's a $3,000 car at best and for that price I would just use it as a daily driver and drive it into the ground; it certainly is not appropriate basis for a restoration or a big block conversion.

A lot of the cars from Western Canada are still pretty good. Even some of the cars in Northern Ontario where there wasn't so much salt used.
I brought a 68 Chevelle home from South Carolina, the car was excellent underneath but the roof had to be replaced.
There are a lot of clean cars in Canada. Just buy what you can afford as a driver and restore or upgrade from there.

The interior of BC is great too.  I can't tell you how many clean cars from the 60's I have seen still being used as daily drivers in and around Kelowna.  Last year I bought a condo at Revelstoke so soon I'll have a lot more opportunity to scout around that area.wink

The only time I have ever been in Kelowna is the winter (skiing), that's when I've seen them all!
