I would have to agree with Carl, U have to have large wallet to tackle this, Mine was all done by myself with bare minimum sent out, IE cyl head job and most other expenses are for parts and supplys and cost are over the 20g mark, car still needs to be painted yet, I know where it all went as I have a running total, it's scary, and to know I'm not finished yet.
Good luck
I guess I am fortunate to work in the autobody trade and have access to the shop and any equipment I need to restore my car. I would have to pay for any material I use which I would also get a discount on. I can restore my car for a reasonable price. It's the time that it will take that will be the scary part.
If you don't have the time, money, space, or alot of patients needed to do a restoration, it can get fustrating in a hurry. Many a projects I have seen abondoned because of the lack of the above. They just realize after they start that oops I am in too deep, by then it is too late, to turn back. Try doing alittle at a time, like the front or rear suspension. This way you will have these done and then you will know whether or not if you are ready for the "big project". Do not be discouraged, but be aware, and be prepared for unexpected setbacks to be encountered.
There's a solid 428 69 Catalina for sale out west right now for $3500. We could all pitch in and buy it. I want the front end, Mark (CDNPNT) needs a trunk lid, Carl you can have the 428...

Oh great, and then I'd have to find a body to put it in, and I'd have another project car
