Story on 49 Canadian Meteor


Another Canadian classic.

Good link. Another Canadian car I've always liked was the Frontenac. I thought a little 2 door sedan would be cool.

      My neighbor has a sweet little 49 2 door with all "Canadian Pontiac" driveline....  I will post a picture..   its for sale (maybe)

Was it a maple leaf? I know the hubcaps had a maple leaf on them.

Bingo!  Yer a winner!!  Not on all models I guess, but I remember them well. a neighbor had a new one in 61 when I started school.

Carl, Thanks for posting pic's of that. It's pretty cool. I had a pale green 4 door when I was19.
 It was from Saskachewan, so it wasn't totally rusted out. Loved the flathead for it's unique sound and low end grunt. Amazing how quiet they were.

i've got a set of frontenac dog dishes on the wall in the garage... at first i thought maybe they were a generic aftermarket cap until i saw them on an orig. frontenac...
