This will be an All Pontiac's Day. Should be some nice cars. If I can get away for a few hours I'll take my T/A for a spin to the track. It's too slow to race, at least right now.
I understand from a guy I talked to near Windsor who is into Pontiacs and has a 63 Catalina 2 dr post drag car, that this is the annual Buick Olds Pontiac day at St. Thomas. He runs his car there. You can view pics from the events on the dragway website from prior year events.
Looks like I better get a camera ready to go. I think I will be able to get away for a few hours in the afternoon. I'm trying to get back into part time drag racing in the next year or two so this is a research day.

Thank goodness you have the "roll bar" for it!!!lol
Earl, I better get over to your place and show you how to upload an avatar. That Tasters Choice guy in your avatar is driving me nuts!
Come on over when you get a chance Todd. I met the guy who bought your 60 Catalina today. Barry Simpson, he said to say hello. He had his 78 Trans Am in the 11's. Nice guy.
I'll have to try for a better shot of the screaming chicken. The camera I took to St.Thomas today didn't work, only got a few shots with my cell, gotta get 'em downloaded, but it's not working right either. Time to buy a new camera.
just wondering because im thinking on getting back into doing airbrushing again, how much would something like that cost to get done? Ive done a couple bike tanks in the past for my uncle but i would have no idea what to charge somebody for artwork now. Just wondering if its worth it for me to do it again and if people still want this stuff done or if they just get stickers and such nowadays.

There is still a demand for airbrushed work, I don't think the Trans Am crowd is worth chasing as the reason a lot of them got done in the 80's was because the decals were so expensive. More Hot Rod black primer with flames n' skulls these days. Bikes are also more popular now. I always admired the skills it took and the individual expression it gave cars. How much would you charge to do a T/A hood bird? It looks like a lot of work/skill involved!!...
it would look good in my garage hate to see someone sand it off..
If I could find another Solar Gold hood or get one painted in the same condition mine's in we can work something out. I agree it's kinda like early '80's Americana artwork in it's own way. I don't want to destroy it, but I do want to go back to the original decal chicken. I'm looking for an original shaker assembly also as well as a stock intake as the aluminum Holley Dominator is too high to mount the functional Shaker. 350-403 Olds type.

I'll second that, and then some! Barry is a credit to the hobby and a great friend. He has helped me quite a bit over the last few years, including transporting my 455 HO back to Canada from Norwalk, Ohio a few years back and helping with parts. He's been a wealth of information as I was building the 68 Bird. Here's a link to his site, proof that he is auto-addicted! His E-headed 455 HO 78 T/A ran 11.28 this past weekend and is a beautiful car. http://www.auto-addiction.com/
i would be more into doing the hot rod flames and pinstiping and such but i do want to do some airbrush work someday again. Its been 8 or so years now so it will take a while to get the knack of it. I have an original scoop and breather from my 79 t.a if you want it and as far as hoods go the guy who bought my t.a might have an extra one or even 3 or 4!! He said he has had around 30 trans ams over the years and now he has 2 or 3 i think. He lives here in town so if you want i will stop by. I think his name was Hudson.
