F.A.S.T Drags

Not sure if you guys have seen F.A.S.T (Factory Appearing, Stock Tire) musclecar drags. These guys are pro's at building sleepers that run on bias ply tires. Some of these cars run in the 10's! You can watch the first and second rounds of the 2008 annual event HERE

I much prefer the Pure Stock Muscle Car Drag Races run by Dan Jensen and Bob Bowden in Michigan.  Usually takes place the second weekend after Labour Day each year.  Pete Simpson is usually there with at least one of his copo cars.  Supercharged Studebakers too, and I'm not talking Avantis.wink

Did you guys see the launch out of that white 67 Fairlane 427??? Impressive....

Also noticed the one race where "we've got 2 Camaros coming to the line now" and one of the two Camaros is a 66SS396 Chevelle???

When you mention 427 Fairlane , it reminds me of a 427-425 that ran in Scoudouc in N.B.  It was from Saint John, and was a strong runner!  Will's Pontiac ,could usually squeeze by it, on the Trans Canada....lol   I got a picture of it, running Will's 396 Pontiac, at Moncton(scoudouc dragway, and a month later, got a picture of fellow in California, who bought the same 427 car!   small world...   I love the F.A.S.T. drags!   I was hoping to see the 396-375 blue 68 Nova SS that was "so fast"... It would be something for 69AKDN  to see...

I agree Astro-the Pure Stock drags require more skill to get the cars to run like they do. The FAST rules are a lot more flexible. There's a 58 (I believe) Merc with three-on-the tree that does quite well in the Pure Stocks.
