That smart ass newbie works with me so he is forgiven.
Todd I'm glad you said something. I was getting ready to give the tuner a "tuning". You must say; we have been lucky with the current members. There have been no real troublemakers. You are welcome to use my Snap On scanner. I know it's a drive but I figured I'd offer it anyways.
So the lockup kicked out as it should have when you tapped the brake, the rev increase made the concern disappear and the tranny seems to be fine aside from the lockup being in question...right?. But since the concern only happens under load and you noticed the tach bounces, my question now is...how many Km's are on those plugs?. Are they the originals?.

sure sounds like a slight engine misfire, possibly a plug that is carbon tracked. the engine is under high load in 4th gear, lockup, slight grade...
I'll have stop in at my old dealership one night and borrow the scan tool. It just feels different from the misfires I experienced on a 97 Regal I owned with the same engine. Of course that only happened at WOT on the track... From my experience you almost ALWAYS have to replace the wires with the plugs on these engines. It seems once you disturb the back bank they crap out.
2NR is a good sh*t. He's one of our Lexus techs. I still can't figure out how he manages to keep that Tuxedo clean while he changes oil on those cars...
I found a photo of a cool (hard to believe the word cool being used in the same sentence with "Park Avenue") Park Avenue from a past issue of PHR online. I cool live with that look:
