RE: 69 Grande Parisienne 427

The NPO idea is great and I would be in for sure.

In my jaded view there are probable less than 50 people here who would contribute and the dues would probably cover the cost of 2 car garage and insurance annually.

I would love to be proven wrong, but when I hear that less than 30 members here have supported Todd's awesome efforts to give us this "CLUB" (website) along with my other "club" experiences I don't think I'm far off.

Let's prove Rick (AKA Carl3) WRONG eyepopping.gifnana.gifshocked.gif

In addition to the help that 67rag396 (Rick) has offered, I'll also lend a helping hand.  The car is about a 2 hour drive east of Calgary on the Trans Canada.  (I think there's only 5 bends and a couple hills in the road in 2 hours driving).  I'd of course need to make my routine visit to the 7-11 in Brooks though.

Most likely you are right Rick. I still think the idea has merit though. It may take a year or two to get it going. Here are what other groups are doing:

HMCS Sackville    HMCS Haida  Avro Arrow

I like the idea however I think it would be impossible to get every member to spend $50. I can't even get 95% of them to buy a $5 window decal! If we go NPO, can I quit my job and draw a salary? biggrin

How's this sound, Executive Director, The Society for the Preservation and Restoration of Canadian Ponticas.

That would be ED, SPROCP for short, pays $80,000 per annum plus a car lease on a G8 GT, all standard health and dental benefits, headquarter office at Wellington and Dundas in London ON. biggrin

I still can't believe more members haven't bought stickers at least. i got a couple and a couple shirts too. It's great stuff and unique, since we're talking Canadian Pontiacs you can't get any other accessories celebrating them. It's even hard to find regular Pontiac shirts. I'd ask for hats but i realize the problem Todd is having. He'd sell a few then be stuck with the rest. Anyway, i hope since Christmas is coming more members will buy or get family/friends buy for them. And the membership is a neat idea if a car can get restored. What happens with the restored cars? I'd love to be able to get hands on and learn how to and do some work on the cars. Having not much experience at least being around to see and learn would definately be worth the money to be part of the club and help out. We could get around to restoring members cars.

Vern,
I'm not sure if only one can be done. I hired a company to do the shirts and they did all the setup. Did you want the logo embroidered? If not I can call them and find out the cost to do one shirt. Let me know what style she wants.

Sorry Dave,
No more news. Barry said he didn't want to pester the owner. He said I'd be the 2nd (after him) to know.

The same kind of decal as on the shirts you have as for style if they can do it and its not to costly I would just get her to go to the store and buy one that way I know she will like it and it will fit proper.

Todd, I think there are a lot more potential members out there who still don't know about us.  What about running an ad in Old Autos?  I would contribute towards the cost of doing that.

I thought of that. I could simply send them a business card. Most guys who advertise in Old Autos do that. Shouldn't cost much. I'm off tomorrow. I'll try to remember to call.

Any idea on cost of shipping to S-W Ontario? Or any members heading this way with an empty trailer?
