Somali Pirates take Saudi oil tanker

These guys got some balls! So I wonder if the oil companies are viewing this as a reason to hold us hostage again at the pumps?

I was watching this on the news tonight. Apparently the pirates are making a killing on ransom payments. There's 100 million dollars worth of crude on that tanker. NATO states they aren't in the business of rescuing ships so count them out for any help. The pirates use the money to buy bigger guns, faster ships and more high tech GPS equipment. Crazy

The only part that bothers me is that somehow we may end up being the ones to pay the ransom, at the pumps. Oil companies are notorious for using any excuse to raise the prices.

There is a bit of poetic justice in that isn't there?

It's not just oil the pirates have, they have a fishing ship and a grain ship. U.S. thinks ships should have armed guards according to the report i'm just watching on the CBC. Makes you wonder if Somalia will be the next hot spot for military action in the world. Millions of dollars this year has been paid to Somali pirates this year. Pirates are now just going to cause us more problems, in the end just someone else causing prices for us to go up.

So today the Indian Navy took out the pirate mother ship. But they scooped another Iraqui vessel.
