Left Palm beach this morning, temp was heading for 78 degrees, transfered flights at Philly and what the heck it's 26 and I can see my breath. Two minutes out of Philly and it's a winter wonderland below and all the way home. Minus 5 at PIA and of course when I get home snow to shovel, I guess my kids were too busy partying without Mom and Dad home. This is without a doubt the worst for me ever, I mean it was nice when I left and beautiful where I was, I even swam yesterday, and now this!

Welcome back Ray, although I know what you mean about the weather.  We were under the normal average temp all last week (should have been about 6) and will continue to be for the foreseeable future!  I'm already dreading my next natural gas bill! cry

That's why when I went to Florida on a regular basis, it was always the last two weeks of March.  By the time you get back, spring is just around the corner whereas you've just experienced summer again and must now face winter full force for another 5 months!doh

Oh, and just to rub salt (literally) into the wounds, do you know what socialist silly hall did while you were away?  Converted Pharmacy Ave. into a two lane country road by installing bike lanes!  Bike lanes to no where again as they end before Danforth, who knows where the multitude of Beijing cycling masses are supposed to go then!  We really need get together with Case and find out what is the procedure for getting rid of these useless things.  Surely if there is a  process for getting them installed, there must be a process for getting them removed as well?  I can't imagine anyone in lower Scarborough actually wanting these things; I never saw or heard any public outcry or demand for them, so how the heck do these things get done?  Where is the public accountability?

Funny thing, We drove over to Mary's mom's last night and I commented to her none of this traffic calming and speed bump crap in Florida. Down there roads are used for driving on.

I already sent a message to Case asking what the process is to have these things removed....he forwarded my message to some Roads Manager, that was one month ago, do you think I have a response yet? furious

They just put those goofy bike lanes on a buncha' steets here in Peterboro' too..
Single traffic lanes now and foolishly enough even lost the turn lanes at many intersections!.

So what ever happened to good ol' common sense anyway?.

That is a question I ask myself almost daily. I read a quote years ago and I use it as part of my auto signature on some emails.

"Common sense is so rare.........it is often mistaken for genius"

Your keen eye never ceases to amaze me Pete. I thought this was a cool picture of 1972 Indy winner. I have lots of pictures of Mark's cars on my computer as well as other memorabilia and diecast in my collection. He was and still is one of the best.

Wierd weather. Snow & lots of it in Ontario and the Maritimes. Yet we have green grass and not a hint of winter in Newfoundland, at least not where I live. Not even a spray of salt yet because the temps are so warm as a result of the gulf stream. Just drove one of my cars to storage last weekend. But then I think back to last year - the snow began in mid Nov and never quit until the end of April. You never know how it's going to go in a maritime climate ...

We got about half a foot + of snow on PEI on Saturday (our first), but now the temps are going back to almost tropical for this week at least!
Bye bye snow!biggrin
