Auto transport quotes

Okay, so I got some rates today to transport my car from Caledon to Newmarket(about an hour away). (my car is going to get killed here with all that snow, but I may have someone in Newmarket that is willing to store it)
Anyway, I wanted to see what it would cost if I were to get it hauled there. I checked out some quotes, this is what I got

$195- transported in an enclosed trailer
$250- transported by a truck on fletbed
This is the one I really don't get, maybe you can explain
$950?? transported, should be by an airplane at this cost??

Wow, if that is the best rates around there we get a deal here.

A haul from Winnipeg to Morris where we live (similar distance) is about $125.

Unless others know any cheaper around here. Those were private individuals, except for the 900 dollar quote, which I was not expecting.

When I had my 71 LTD 2 years ago before I sold it to someone in Germany, I had to pay $150 to get it towed 45 minutes away(I did not know it would be 150, it is usually 50), and then a $50 charge for the mechanics to look at the car, lie and tell me nothing.

enclosed is the way to go, especially with all the road dust and crap. unless you can wash it at the other end and even then.

Enclosed is the way to go, but with my luck I won't get the spot, and I will end up looking for a car cover for this winter.

Do you have CAA?
Is there nothing closer? Orangeville, Brampton? If you subtract the transport cost you could pay a little more for storage.
Start a new post looking for storage. I just put my 55 away this past Sunday in a private garage at one of my wife's friends. I drove it there, the roads were nice and dry so there was no salt water spray on the car at all.
I am sure that there is going to be a few more nice days with sun that will dry the roads.

It's not a Pontiac. I have posted pics of my Customline before. It is for sale so maybe I should put some pictures in the for sale area.

No, I dont have CAA, I would have to check if there is anything closer. But like you said also, there are cheaper ways of getting the car there.

Today, I got in my car, and the carpet was all damp, that can't be good for my floor pans.hmm

Hey,
Regards to CAA, I have plans on getting it, but I am still kind of looking for storage (this time near the Mississauga area).

67 327 4spd- Where I am, I am not allowed to have those portable garages.
