Hillarious, reminds of the Christmas I bought my than girlfriend now wife of over 20 years an engagement ring. My good friend bought his girlfriend a set of 4 tires. He was in the doghouse for a long time ! He eventually took her on a trip to Forida and got married while on vacation.
Last Christmas, a couple I know showed me the gifts they exchanged ... he got a vacuum cleaner as his gift, and she got a mailbox as hers ... only on PEI! My wife would kill me if I got her a mailbox, and if I ever received a vacuum cleaner from her ... well ... that would suck!

That's quite a price, to pay ,for a set of tires lol
I guess you guys have the wrong wife. Just got my wife's Christmas list. It has only one thing on it, a new range. Man that's almost as good as shopping for a car...stainless steel, electronics, warranties. How lucky can a guy get!
So tonight was the night, she made sure we were out the door by 6:45 pm.. She said there was a Sears Furniture and Appliance store in Markham, not really that far from our place in downtown TO, basically a 15 minute drive up the 404.
We get there and lo and behold no Sears Appliance and Furniture store BUT its now a Clearance Centre. We go in anyway and this place looks like a war has been held in there, crap all over the floors people everywhere and the Store Manager barking out MIDNIGHT MADNESS over the PA " Discounts on all Merchandise, deduct the Tax on Fashions, Footwear, Free Santa Toy for all the kids, Blow out on all Christmas decorations, 30% OFF ALL APPLIANCES"
What the H, did he say 30% off on appliances ? You are darn right he did...Jackpot!
Of course my lovely bride of 27 years is drawn to the most expensive Kenmore Stainless Steel 5 burner glass top self cleaning 5.8 cubic foot oven three rack full glass front 4000 watt range on the floor. I see WAS $1,249.99 NOW $997. That's not bad I think I had figured on a G note at least going in. Salesman approaches,
"It's a great night to buy, 30% off"
"Yes" I say "I see it is $997"
He says " And 30% off"
Me " WTF are you kidding me"
"NO" he says, "that's $684 tonight and toinight only"
"You have got to be kidding me" I say
"Absolutely Not Sir" he says politely
"We'll take it" we say in unison as I hand him my debit card.
In and out in 15 minutes, it comes Monday and my wife couldn't be happier. Merry Christmas to me now!
There's a Sears outlet store in London. I took my wife there about 4 years ago and bought her one of those fancy ceramic cooktop stoves for a similar deal. Cooking is her hobby (really!) so it was a happy moment for her, much like when I buy myself a tool for the garage. Every night dinner time is like being at a fancy restaurant!

Isn't it nice having a great cook as a wife? I place mine in the top three cooks I know, in there with my Mother-in-law and Boss's wife. This explains why I have grown 2 lbs. a year for my 27 years of marriage!
I've put on about 20lbs since I met Connie. She's an advocate of cooking from scratch using wholesome ingredients. There's very little processed frozen food in our house. She's also a very smart shopper- buying large cuts of meat and cutting it up for several meals. She does a lot of homemade soups, stews and chili's. Todays soup of the day is beef barley. MMMMM!
