the thing is, we don't say anything publicly and "they" get away with ruining what Christmans and what Canada is about. We need to learn to speak up and let our voice be heard
Well said,We are to blame in part because we say nothing and do nothing. Thinking someone else will take our place at the ballot box.Well the ones that have been taking our place for the most part have been liberals.I think if ALL of us stand up and start getting involved we could put this country back on the rails. The founding fathers of this country were for the most part Christians. You will never here that taught in public schools today.
Luckily, Christmas is still alive and well here in Ingersoll. The town goes all out with lights and other decorations. In fact, this is the view behind my house: (excuse my poor photos-they don't do any of these justice)
The view from our upstairs bedroom. Anyone know who the pink guy is?
There are literally hundreds of these lighted statues in parks all over town. The public can "sponsor" one and have their names placed below them. In our downtown (no Walmart here!) we have a very large Christmas tree with lights that change colour to music (you can tune in with your car radio when you are driving by and hear the tunes). We really like living here. Connie and I can walk out our back yard, into the park, enjoy the lights and follow the paved path to the downtown area. We can enjoy the Christmas sites and stop at the town bakery for a coffee and baked treat (or two). During the walk home you'll hear the church bells chime on the half hour. It's really like going back in time. I hope it never changes. Also, if you are ever in town check out "Grampa's Attic". A cool old tyme shop with neat items like model planes, books on trains, ship memorabilia, old tyme candies, books etc.
I once worked with a young woman who was right of "Atila the Hun:, she was all for Capital Punsihment, against Gay rights, anti welfare BUT she voted Liberal every time.
