I am at least partly to blame. He took one of my comments as criticism. I said I never knew that brake clean would penetrate windshield urethane. I didn't think I had worded it in a mean way but that is how it was taken.

I quote----

"This's new for me. I never knew brakeclean could penetrate urethane. It sure won't take cured urethane off your fingers."

I was going to try brakekleen on my next window. I cracked one using the right window wire. The next one was with a modeling knife and no problems....plus I did it alone. The other I had help and cracked it. Maybe it's better not to have help.

Thanks Chuck. I agree. We are all entitled to our opinion. I didn't think that I had stated anywhere that his ideas or opinions were wrong.

                                  ????REALLY????

I too know about the ineffectiveness of brakecleans on urethane and fingers unless you remove 3 layers of skin with it as well!!!! But I never tried it on older cured urethane or more easily on the roll type butyl that held windshields in years ago!!

thats too bad, i thought everyone on here was well aware of the fact that this was a disscusion board and we all have our own opinion, right or wrong, its your own opinion. To me this is a place to learn about our beloved hobby and help eachother out whenever we can. i think people read things wrong all the time in emails and such and thats what happened here, too bad for him.

Polite is the word!! I must have missed this hissy fit? Are there others??? I know I am a little younger than some on here and as always seniority generally rules but without the crap that is associated with it! And HERE , this is NOT the case. As Steve said, we are grown ups, in most cases in little boys and girls bodies, and as long as nothing is personally said, everyone is entitleld to have their say IF and UNTIL proven otherwise. We are all prone to mistakes, such is life, be corrected, learn from it and move on!!!
All fun and games till someone pisses around with my Pontiacs!!!! That's a blood sport................

If he thinks things are bad here, he should sign up to Jalopy Journal. They go for the jugular on there!

While we all have had a difference of opinion on here, I have yet to see anyone personally attack another member on here (and I wouldn't tolerate if this did happen).

Now back to our regularly scheduled programming! teevee.gif

lol, bunch of girls, gotta resort to name calling, Buttercup ?, no class, prime examples of why the family doesnt show any cars or options, Uncle was right, its not too bad for me, its to bad for the hobby, its not everyday someone brings out an untouched Beaumont down to its orig brakes, thats been in a capsule for quarter of a century, jealousy im suspecting, options that are only heard of but never seen, its not to bad for me, its to bad for you, I know what the stuff looks like why?, cause they are in the red car, if you wernt counting thats two 65 Beau Customs that wont be registered, how many other guys have cars they wont show, probably lots, gets kina hard to track as to how many are left. I dont see anyone else posting toys, could be a reason why, everyone has seen crager rims, B&M shifters, butchered interiors and a Macco paint job, there is some good guys on here, and some nice rides too,you know who you are. Im really glad I didnt post all my photos. your loss not mine, was going to post again, the production numbers per prov.ince for 1965 for any car, think I'll keep that info and other documentations to myself. Buttercup ? , now theres class, sad, sad, sad, yet respectful, nice
