i drove a couple different north american land yacht in my younger years. i bought a 70 olds 98 for the drivetrain (455 w/ turbo 400) to stick in my 69 gmc 1/2 ton. my 73 T-bird was 17 1/2 ft long and for a 2 dr sports coupe was big but my biggest was a 60 lincoln continental. cant remember if it was 19 or 20 ft long. huge, even the doors were thick and everything was vacuum.

Hey Hillar, I did driver training at Leaside High, all 17 of us got booked one after another once the course finished, must have had some arrangement back then. Remember the office on Warden near Comstock opposite GM plant, that's where we all went.

I drove a '74 pale green Rumble LeMans 4 dr. north on Warden, right on Eglinton to Birchmount, left on some residential street south to St. Clair, west to Warden and back to the MTO office. Backed in the spot as directed. PASSED. Everyone passed but one girl. She must have been terrible based on what I had to do.

Yup, that one at Warden and Comstock was where I was originally going to take my test, but they were always too busy.

I don't even remember what I did on my test. The office in Aurora was right on Yonge St. in this little non descript building - it was about the size of a barber shop. I think I drove up and down Yonge a bit, did a parallel park and that was it. It was an older examiner, and it was about 10:30 in the morning. All I remember is that it was over real fast - I'd say about 10 minutes - those were the days!

N.B. Nov 08 060.jpg I took my test in 1965 in a 1960 Morris Minor I failed the first two times, as we had to parallel park, on a hill ( a real hill) When I was home in Nov , I took picture of hill, to show my kids, how tough it was.. lol I passed on the 3rd time..
