are the newer data plates held in with screws?

Yes the Data plates in some US Pontiac production facilities were affixed with those Phillips head self tapping screws, usually with a sealing material around the entry hole point. This has often been a topic on PY forum.

Based on my knowledge in viewing the photos of the car the data plate shown matches the car. For 1973 it is impossible to determine if a LeMans or LeMans Sport Coupe has the W62 GTO option. As is common with a few years (1964, 1972, 1973, might be others too) the GTO was not a model, rather an option.

Again in viewing the photos there is nothing to suggest that this car did not have the GTO option, the grille is the right one, the hood is the right one, the door panel is the right one and it also has the very rare optional 8000 rpm tach that was offered with the GTO 400 V8.
