Thanks Dave, will do. I'll likely be requesting your expertise once I get started on it.

Great find. Just another one of my never-will-happen dreams, to own an L72 B body.

haha. I'll take all the blame. Only clincher is you have to post lots of photos of the car as work progresses!

Glad to here everything worked out well Barry, and that it's now safely stashed away. Keep us updated, that car is interesting to say the least!

Cheers, Mark.

Let's keep in touch in regards to your new 69 Biscyane project, as we have similar projects. . I've been following this car since Tony had it as well as when Marc recently had it.. Marc and I have met when I was in Toronto last year , and have talked many times since then . He did a lot of investigation on this car with great results

Some of those parts included in your purchase ,are parts I supplied Marc over the last year. You have many other rare parts.( especially the elusive shifter boot). One recently sold for over $1,250 US !!!

My 69 Biscayne L72 M22 project is getting close to being finished.( Frost lime) This car is a US car, and unfortuneatly does not have any concrete documents ,so it will my driver,.

However my other project is a documented 69 SS427 L72 M21, which came out of Doraville .

Please tell us (photos too) about your SS427. We had a thread about SS427's a while back. Very interesting cars.

My SS427 is literally taken totally apart, boxed up and now in storage. The body is off the frame , and a pair NOS rear 1/4's have been installed. It is the Sport Coupe model .  Blue with parchment interior. Bucket seats, 4 spd console. M21 trans with 3:73 posi.

I brought the car up from Georgia about 5 years ago. Needs a lot of work, but all the hard to find parts for the restoration have been sourced. Now all I need now is $$$$. The Biscayne L72 project distracted me ( and the funds) from the SS project , so it will be awhile yet

There were only 546 "B" body cars built at the factory with the L72. No telling how many went into each model ( such as an SS). I know of a couple of other 69 L72 4spd SS's in Canada. Not sure on how many exist in the US, but I'm sure there are at least  a dozen. There was even a documented "1 of 1" 69 L72 Caprice wagon built .

Luckily for my SS , I do have the original build sheet for this car( also tucked away in a vault)

I realize this is a Pontiac site , so my next question ....is...were there any 69  L72 Canadian Pontiac's built?. That would be extremely rare. I know there were only 10 of the 69 - 427/390 4spd Pontiac's built, but not sure of the L72's?

Do you have any documents that say there were 10 427 390 4spd '69 cars built ? It would be cool to see a document of such !

I've got this info from Morley Brown in Ontario, as I was considering his 69 2+2 427 which is one of the 10 built with the L36 m20 combination. He did provide me with the GM documentation from GM Canada.

I'm sure there were more built , but with the M21 trans instead.

10 is the correct number for the 390 hp, 4 speed 69 2+2. Not sure if this number includes the possibility of other models (Strato Chief, Laurentian, Parisienne) having this power train combo. As for L72 equipped cars, the only "close" evidence that is out there is a classified that showed up in a newspaper years ago listing a 69 Pontiac with the 425 427 "with warranty". For all we know that could have been installed after the car was sold.

Here is a members 390 hp 427 4 speed 2+2 and likely the nicest one left:

That's great news Howmac. Between you and Dave B, and all the others on this site, I should be able to nail down any other parts I'm going to need. ( Except the #'s Matching L72 cry)

I'd love to see some pics of both your cars, especially the Biscayne

I'm heading for the Dominican Republic tomorrow night, so I'll be out of contact for a week ( Do I have to ask permission Todd?) But when I get back, I'd like to give you a call

I wish it were mine but alas it is not. Another Canadian Poncho member owns it with a number of other rare Canadian Pontiacs.
