I see CndGmfan said he had the early and late 67 Beaumont brochure. We have the early one would be nice to have also the late one. To compare with the 138 cars and 136 a51 option.l

Really the only differences in the brochure revolve around the changes in the Sport Deluxe. On the cover the same picture of the red SD coupe is used, but now what we know today as a big block hood is used, along with changing the seats from buckets to bench seats. Inside, the green convertible has the revised hood, plus the verbiage has changed to reflect the suble but significant way the Sport Deluxe was ordered. In the specification section the 325-horse 396 was added to the lineup, becoming the base engine for the 738-series Sport Deluxe, plus the H.D. 3-speed manual floor shift transmission was standard with the 396 and included in the base price of that model, not added on to the price after the fact as it had been previously when you optioned a Sport Deluxe with a 396.

Again the brochure is an oversize piece which makes for a nuisance when scanning. I had been looking for that brochure for years before I found it.

I also have the early Canadian 1967 Chevelle brochure (easy to find at local swap meets) and the scarce mid-year revision version as well (mine is the second copy I have found in the last 20 years). I also have the U.S. version.

Both my 1965 Acadian Beaumont & 1966 Beaumont bochures are the 1st printing, which is to say that any drivetrain revisions or errors in printing have not been addressed. The '65 doesn't mention the 350-horse L-79 in the Beaumont or the 300-horse L-74 in the Acadian (both of which were added later in the run and are very scarce cars).
My 1966 beaumont brochure doesn't accurately state when the console was included with the Sports Option (it says included with Powerglide or 4-speed; it should also say that it is included with any transmission with the 396 which they later corrected in the revised printing).

i heard once that if you got the 3 speed basic trans you didnt get the console or what i belive is you didnt get the floor shift!  so maybe a fiiler instead of the shifter?

The 3-speed Saginaw came with a column shift that year starting with the sixes through the 327 (275 horse). In that case no console.

The console with a blank was used on the Parisienne 2+2 & Impala SS when a 3-speed column shift was used.

If you ordered a 396 on a Malibu SS or 736-series Sport Deluxe you were required to pony up for an optional transmission. The cheapest of the options was the h.d. Borg-Warner 3-speed (rpo M13) at $87.75 in Canadian dollars. It had a floor shift and came with a console (on the A51 Sports Option cars). Later the cost of the h.d. 3-speed was included in the base price of the 138-series SS396 and 738-series SD396.

A trivia fact is that for 1967 in Canada the Powerglide was available with all Chevelle and Beaumont engines, but in the U.S. the H.D. 3-speed manual was available with all Chevelle engines.

regarding the 3 speed transmission;   in 1966  in a GM Pontiac Buick Showroom in Vancouver, I saw a 1966 Beaumont SD with the big block 396, bucket seats and a console with a stick shift  3 speed .  So that would tell you that if you did not order the 4 speed  or the automatic in the SD...you got the floor mounted 3 speed

You are correct, there was a lowmile original 66 SD 396 3speed for sale in alberta a few years ago with that same setup.  Fully documented too.

Legend has it that there were some little chips on the front of that one.  When the owner was asked if it had been driven on a gravel road, the owner stated "No, that's what happens when you hit big bugs at 120mph"...

I have pictures of that low mileage 66 SD 396 3-speed Alberta car. It was really original. It had 28,000 original miles and was sold new out of Listowel, Ontario.

With the Sports Option (A51) you got the console if your car had a 4-speed, a Powerglide, or with any transmission if you had a 396 (the h.d. 3-spd was a floor shifted Warner T16).

Stone chips nothing, the chips were from hitting bugs at 120 mph devilish.gif   That thing came with a 360-horse 396 & 3.73 Posi from the factory. Excellent! What a totally awsome car it is. It looks like this month's feature car (Aztec Bronze, too!)

Here's 1 picture of the interior of that very car from the January 2006 e-Bay ad (check out the ailing aftermarket vintage clear vinyl seat covers).

And imagine how rare the little shift diagram on the console would be considering that it's a three speed and not a four speed!!!  (Also, what was the after market knob on the steering wheel called?  Were they legal?)
Do we know who bought the car?

It isn't only you, we are evidently suffering from link rot. That, plus the absolutely disgraceful way Photobucket shiested millions and millions of people and made millions of threads useless. They even plastered their ridiculous Photobucket logo across anything else that remains, as if they claim full ownership of customer's contents. I dumped Webshots for life when they did something half as nervy as Photobucket.

Link rot ... I like that terminology.
