I love this car maybe even more than any other existing Canadian Pontiac example I've ever known of!.
I saw it first when it was on the Oshawa Kijiji and linked it to the Yenko.net boys then who could hardly believe it...must've been 18 mos. or so ago?.
Does it have the 3/tree still in it now or a 4/stick?.
What more could a fella want, a real L79 Post car in an Acadian wrapper...in black!

Personally I would have gone for the 4 speed over the radio.  As a radio delete car it would have been even cooler, plus it would be a lot easier to just add a radio later on...

I am going out on a limb here and suggesting that a woman was involved in the decison making process. Hillar, you have no idea of the crap they come up with when making a car deal! That's why on the last three I didn't consult and life turned out OK afterall.

I have a friend , down the street, with the '67 327-275 Chevy II HT, who was on a budget (always) in 1978, and ordered a new SWB Chevy Van..  We had a Ford Club Wagon van, loaded, at the time, so His Wife was looking forward to something similiar... He "HAD to have" A 350 4 BBL, and "Had to have" a POSI-TRAC!   When it arrived, his wife was p--sed!   He ordered it with 3 speed on column, no windows,no interior!!!  He was so proud of the "blue" school bus seat, he bolted in the back....Hes so cheap!!!!no

Hi Carl, Roger explained that the original owner was a young father of two on a strict budget who chose the car very carefully. As an example a 4 speed at $250 would have been nearly 15% of the base price of the car. I know you and I are of similar age so you will remember those days. It is like adding say a $6,000 option to a $40,000 car today. Pretty serious decison to be made I'd say.

Yes, I saw that. I just can't imagine driving a bolt action L79 car!

He must have really been broke!

The car would have a huge appeal as a four speed car and to me anyway, the attraction is even greater because of it's uniqueness.

Hi guys, sorry for the delay in replying. the car is a three on the tree. It also has a 3:08, non posi, 12 bolt rear end. I was thinking of putting some 4:88 gears and a posi in the rear end, a 4 speed, some slicks and some motor work and go racing. But I think I might sell it instead. now the question, what do you think its worth? It now has a small scratch on the quarter panel and two more small scratches on the rear section of the roof. This car is not perfect, but I would say its a very strong #2 car.
Thanks for the help guys,
Roger Hornby

I sure wouldn't want to insult anyone with a bad estimate of value so what I did was look around at Chevy II Nova SS cars, they seem to be asking in the $22,000 CDN range for high #2 cars. If we take into account the rarity and documenation that goes with your car it's anybody's guess what that adds, $5,000, $10,000, $15,000 ? Anyone else ?

15,000.00 to 30,000 is quite a spread, but I would think its closer to the top..My 66 Chief would be a stretch to get 12 and I would not sell my Ventura for less than 14
