The Quaintest Town in Ontario

Had a business meeting Saturday in Niagara-on-the-Lake so headed down Friday and returned home today. I took my wife as well. Stayed at the Prince of Wales Hotel which dates back to the 1830's, very very nice all nicely recreated to that period. The ladies may enjoy these photos's better, just put up a few for those who have never seen this historic little town, only 1 1/2 hours from Toronto. I should also mention the winery tours we took Saturday afternoon......very educational and enjoyable. Konzelmann gets my nod as the best.

That would be a good destination for a old car road trip.

Just before Christmas they have the Victorian Walk. They block all the streets to traffic, light the streets and your off on a tour, Most of the time I don`t get past the first bar, Friend has a BB in town so we crash there. The park at the end of Mary street has a great car show and shin every year in the summer. The rain always seems to find it.

There is a Christmas only store on Queen Street, of course we bought a few things there, and the leather shop had 80% off and the fudge factory and the Angels Inn  and the Anchorage ......it goes on. I only saw few nice oldies, 2 70's Olds Cutlass's, and a 1967 Beaumont in an open garage on the wine tour. Lots of high end new stuff, I suppose the white 427 Mustang would be of most interest. It was parked under the clock tower and I had fully intended to snap a shot, but the I heard this thunderous roar and the quivering of the earth and it left.

I'd have to agree about a great old car destination. Sounds like 70 SS ACADIAN lives in the area, it gets crazy in the summer, but maybe he can give us ideas.

PS. I told the kids we'll have to go down at Christmas time, it has to be just beautiful.

I have to take my parents to the Prince of Wales every time I visit them It's Mom's favorite.
For Christmas one year I got them a 2 day all expenses gift package, they are still mad at me for spending so much.

There is also a business named Automotive Warehouse just off the QEW on Airport Road which connects with Regional Rd 55 the road into town.

I am not familar with the businss but the parking lot was jammed at 12:30 when I drove by. I think they sell speed equipment and other auto parts.
