RE: First BC Meet and coffee

I had some quarter skins put on by a guy in Shawnigan, and some tailpanel rust repair. My welding skills are not up the chore of exterior welding, LOL. So right now I've got the complete rear stripped. Not really sure what gonna happen with paint yet, might be epoxy primer black this year. I'm kinda hopin for mid june time line.

She's apart now so you have no choice, Gett-er-done. I like the project photos. The larger panels can be scarey for sure. When it's time to finish those panels, thats when I walk away. They look great till you hit them with paint. It takes alot of practice. Was your car stored out on Old Lake Cowichan Road at one time? Pretty sure I saw it there. I have  Blue Beaumont SD rag project going and it's coming together nice. I built it as a 4spd small block.

I don't think it ever got stored on old lake cowichan road but did get stored in Lake cowichan, near the arena for around 5 years, it was also at chemainus, and ended up my house probably 15 years ago, but was outside under a tarp and mickeymouse shelter for a few years, inside now for about 12.

That's gonna be a nice lookin car when she's all back together, will have to come over for a look one day when time permitts, LOL.

Is your car a 2+2 model? It's cool that these cars are so similar. I see you put in a rear sway bar. They make a big difference. What did you do with the brakes, disk, power drum, manual drum, etc? We will have to check each others projects out. Have you ever scored a parts car for the old girl? Would be funny to part a gto for a Lemans 2+2. I had a guy that Parted a 65 Beaumont SD HT for a GTO. That wasn't so funny. I own the car now.

It's to low in the front. At night on a bumpy road the person behind me gets a nice light show of sparks from my new exhaust just behind the collectors. I think those pipes are pretty flat, because I don't hit as much.

Nope no parts cars, hard to find any up here as they were never sold new up here. I know's there a 64 GTO in Lake Cowichan, been redone. The rear sway bar was ordered from GM, I used to work there so it was reasonably priced. already had boxed arms on it.  Stock Gm power disc brakes up front from 69-72 chevelle,  stock original drums in rear. Just changed the front suspension to Global west tubular, with 1-1/4 front bar. M21 for trans, centerforce  dual friction 10.5 clutch. Hedman Elite headers for a chevelle, Beaumont engine mount frame brackets from the 65 Beaumont at eagle auto wrecking, ( gone now) . Aluminum rad and fan shroud.

The 65 Beaumont at eagle eyes wrecker is gone because I have it. So what your saying is you did part out a 65 Beaumont. Just joking!! I do have the car though. The pictures look good. I keep the running gear in mine pretty simple. Yours is way nicer than mine. What gears are you running with that M-21 and do you like it?

3.9 for rear gears with an Auburn posi unit.  originally had 3.23 gears but was too slow of the line, I had to change carrier to go any higher so I figured I would go to 3.9. it might be a little much for the highway, runs around 2900 rpm at 65 with 245/60/15 rear tires. I should have gone to 3.55 or similar or even 3.73. But hind site is great ,LOL. I'll probalby go to a taller tire next time I buy some to help out a bit, 255/70/15 should drop rpm by 200 at 60mph.   U took the white 65 Beaumont, Dam I wanted some more stuff of it, LOL. I'll find it one day, LOL.

I think were talking about the same car. Black 65 with white black interior at John's. Wasn't much left but clear title. My blue Sd ht has 4.11 and it's way to high. I'm thinking 3.73 or 3.55 with a M-20. If you swapped that M-21 for a M-20 you would love it. Way easier on the clutch foot.

Oh ya that's right it was black with the white buckets, LOL. old age setting in, LOL. I had been watchin for a m20 but haven't found one yet. I went through the m21, replace a few gears, brgs and syncro's so it has to last for a while, I hope. Ya 4.11's would be kinda high for the highway, but ok for just puttin in town. I haven't drivin mine for any long distance, I think the longest drive was to ladysmith. Got any lines on good hood hinges?? How about window fuzzie's? Buying stuff out of the states really sucks.  LOL.

Penninsula restoration parts in Royal oak can get the window felts for you. Pretty sure there identical to the Chevelle and Beaumont ones. Whats wrong with your hinges? Hood won't stay up, or are they cracked? I just packed some away but I know I have some kicking around. Some have springs and some don't. Did you take any other Beaumont stuff off of the black car that you want to let loose. With the 4.11 I can break loose just standing on it in second gear. It's fun but a little over the top.

The rivets are worn out on the hinges and I beleive they are bent, hood sits off to one side, tried to adjust and bend back but just not happening so either I find some good used ones or gonna buy a new set from performance years for 149 US. Been dealing with them quite a bit, they ship by postal service and marks parts as Antique auto parts so I don't pay any duty. I only took a couple of things off the beaumont, engine frame mounts, which I'm using, pitman arm but I can't remember if I used it or not, I think it was wrong anyway, I think I sold it. Got a few sbc part rolling around though, carbs intakes.

It's a rollerized 350 small block with 10.1 compression. I still roll with the stock 14'X245 with original hubcaps. It had a M-21 in it and I broke the ears off it. Love the new M-20.

Gee 14 inch wheels and 4.11's gonna pull some rpm at a cruise, around 3200 at 60 mph? Mine has also had the ears broke off, well one anyhow, I had it welded up locally, have spare case now.    Sounds as though u probably got some more pony's than I do, Mine is just a stock 350, with a small hydraulic flat tappet cam, with edelbrock rpm air gap and a 750 holley, Flowmaster 40 series and 2 1/2 flowmaster system,  LOL.

Where were all the others? Surely there's a lot more of you left coasters that can show of your cars together.

I think we're only missing 73 GTO and he way out in Abby. There's a few on the island, but a $100 ferry ride for a cup a coffee is a little much to ask and a couple up in the interior with about a 8 hour rounder. If I missed anyone let us know.

They have to clean the roads a bit and the snowdrifts have to melt on the coquihalla before I meet up with you guys....  Maybe soon here cuz I need to take a run to meet up with Kim so we can get that 455 HO going!!! :>)

It pretty tached  at 60 MPH, 3200 RPM is about right. I didn't build the motor but the last owner produced 8000.00 in receipts not including labor that related to this motor. Balanced and blue printed, it's a screamer. It also has large exhaust, flowmasters, and header dumps. My wife says that when I start it up you can see the birds flying away in fear. I'm fighting a driveline vibration right now but I have a idea what it might be. I already changed everything else. As for the hinge I'll have a look today. If it doesn't have the spring do you care? What side again?

P.S
You need a can of LPS to lube those hinges so it doesn't happen again.

Hey 64 Lemans. This clone is on Ebay for $29,999. I like the blacked out grill. He's got USA were the GTO goes in the back of the car and on the doors.
