Think we have seen this one before?

Ray; This is the third time that I have seen this car listed on Ebay. It is also missing the rubber rub strip from the front bumper but it has it on the back bumper.

I have seen probably 4 or so bumper strips over the years. They go for about $175 to $250 USD in NOS condition. The last one I saw was about the same time as I saw this car the last time.

I think that the reason that the car is not fetching big dollars is due to the fact that it is a driver quality and not a total rotisserie restoration. Bench seat would also not be such a desirable option  considering that you could get them in buckets and console in either auto or 4-speed. The only thing is that it is rare based on the production numbers but that will not always bring the $$$. Even if it was a total rotisserie restoration, these cars do not bring big dollars no matter how much you have into them. It is sad, but that is reality.

I am faced with that fact on my car. If it wasn't for the fact that I have had it for 24 or so years, I might not have gone to the extent that I did as you can buy something already done for less $$$, although you don't always know exactly what you are getting. In my case I know what I have and I did it for sentimental reasons.

Ray; No appraisal yet. Spring is coming. I actually need to get 2 appraisals. One will be an independant appraisal. The other will be from the insurance company (ICBC - Insurance Corp of BC) that insures all vehicles in our province. I need the first one to keep ICBC honest. They want my car for a full day to go over it from top to bottom to put a value on it that they will agree to pay me out in full in the event of a write off.  . I need a bit of time to organize my books with all the bills and pictures before I can get this done.

Right now with my 2 very young children climbing at my feet, it is difficult to find the time to get this job done. I have most of the bills itemized on an excel spreadsheet which has helped put the value at what I have spent, but that is as far as it goes for the moment.

I can see that I might need to take some vacation time off from work to be able to tackle this one. I will let you know when I get it done.
