It was built on the afternoon shift on June 9, 1966.
That was good practice for building mine a week later.
(Yet somehow, your's looks better.)

Mine's pretty rough. Not abused, just pretty much neglected for a number of years. Needs a proper restoration which isn't in the cards. It is a rag top though, which has been extremely enjoyable. Also still has the factory 327 (although it's an auto.) I'll see if I can dig some photo's up. What province are you located?

A rag top! Any idea of how many of those are still around? Can't be many. I'm in SK.
It seems like the 66SD rags still on the road probably don't exceed a dozen. (And I've yet to see another 66 SD rag with a 327.) I wish mine looked as good as this other one listed in the Beaumont register: https://i306.photobucket.com/albums/nn245/javacougar/3823n35_20.jpg Maybe someday (LOL)
Just one chubby guy's opinion, but I think you should submit pic's and the story of your car as a potential April feature car. It would be great to hear/see more of it!

I am a little surprised there are no 66 SD ragtops with 396's. But with only about a dozen ragtops left out there, I guess I shouldn't be surprised. I suspect cars with a 396 were more likely to end up being written off. Maybe there were none built to start with?
I mentioned one I saw about 6 or 7 years ago in Regina. Wished I'd taken some photos. I think Dave W from CCCB might have got the numbers off it, but I am not sure.
I would be willing to provide some photos & a little write up but don't know who I'd send it to or if they'd accept it.

I think you should give it a shot... "Rog, (and anyone else interested in having their car featured) please email photos (as an attachement) to canadianponcho@rogers.com along with a brief write up about the car (how you came to own the car, what work you've done on it etc)."

OK Finally got my act together. Here's the skinny on my Beaumont.
The details are 73617 = model number for a Beaumont Custom V8 two door sport coupe M = lower/upper body exterior paint colour Aztec Bronze 393 = interior trim code for ivory vinyl A02 = tinted windshield A51 = Sports Option package or front bucket seats F40 = HD front & rear suspension J50 = power brakes K05 = block heater M35 = powerglide two speed automatic transmission N40 = power steering PO1 = full wheel covers P58 = 7.35-14-4 ply white wall tires U63 = AM push-button radio
It was built on the afternoon shift on June 9, 1966.
Here's a picture if it works. Note that all the original parts are safely stored away.
Kinda makes you want to paint and keep your rag doesn't it?
