Well I recieved an email from Paul Bergstrom POCI Office Manager and everything is in order to get the Chapter Chartered. Here is the list of Charter Officers to be presented in Ohio:
President: Joe Lizon (canadian l79)
Vice-President: Chris Pointon (ARCADIAN)
Secretary: Norm Hallett (forespeed)
Treasurer: Doug McCurdy
Newsletter Editor: Raymond White (73SC)
Web site Administrator: Paul Bergstrom
Now, you may notice that Canadian Poncho members are heavily reepresented here which I think is a great asset for the Chapter and this web site. I volunteered my name for the Newsletter or anything else needed really but I am happy to be holding the Newsletter post.
I may be contacting members on here for ideas for articles so stay tuned.

Speaking of seeing and enjoying, I will be displaying my 63 Acadian Beaumont SD in Dayton at the POCI Co-Vention. I know the POCI has set aside a special area for our CPSC cars to be seen, so who's joining me?? I really hope we can get a variety of cars built and sold in Canada. Let's give them a taste of everything special about our cars.
I choose the Red Roof Inn Dayton Fairborn/Nutter Center on Colonel Glenn Dr. Fairborn, Ohio 45324. It is very close to the Nutter Center, where our cars will be displayed, it was reasonably priced and we travel with our dog which is allowed at this location.

Thanks ...If they allow dogs ...I shouldn't have a problem
Great! I am a new POCI member. I should fall under this new chapter.

E-mail Paul Bergstrom at the POCI office, email is on web site, and let him know you want to be in the Canadian Chapter, you still have time I think to be a Charter member, that will make 42 !
I was looking at flights. Vancouver to Dayton......$222 one way and alot cheaper than driving. Got to go to London and box up some parts to ship to Vancouver. Then one way outa Detroit is the same.
Not sure if everyome was e-mailed but paperwork is done and submiited. I count 25% of the 45 Charter members as Canadian Poncho members too. 50% of the members are from Ontario, 16% from BC, 7% from Manitoba, 8% from Alberta, 5% from Saskatchewan 14% from USA.

Ray, you seem to be the only one getting these emails, I have received nothing.

Ray are you going to the convention? I hear the dinner tickets are all gone.
I wasn't banking on it, I am the Chair of our local Rotary Club Canada Day event and it is eating up all my time, so I never put my mind to the POCI event until this whole issue came up.
Good thing is we are having a Canada Day Ribfest
I am good at last minute though, I'll see how my car does going to Hamilton and back this weekend.

I've been to many conventions. Those last night dinners are over-rated IMHO. Food is terribly over-priced and usually not very good - as is usually the case when you are trying to feed about a 1,000 people at once.

Looks like the e-mails are just going to Officers right now in draft form. I am sure the roster of members will be circulated soon. In the meantime I can give updates.
Looks like we will have about a dozen Canadian Cars at the Dayton Show. Lets see if we can get a few more for a real Canadian showing. Also as 73SC said I believe most emails are only going to Club Officers at this time.

Ray, I've been a member of POCI for almost 25 years. Just renewed last week. But I assume I'm not captured by the Canadian chapter unless I actively register? Is that correct.

We are not researching the POCI membership roles to find potential CPSC members. Canadian chapter members will enroll in the chapter and pay chapter dues in addition to your POCI membership. If you are interested in joining the Canadian Chapter, please email Paul at POCI Headquarters with your POCI membership number. He will add your name to the list of POCI members that will be contacted after the POCI board has approved our chapter application.
As Norm says you have to self identify to get into the Canadian Specialty Chapter. To register you need a Pontiac or GMC (or Oakland) any model or year will do.
