70 Charger deposit taken sold

I spotted this abandoned project last night, 1970 Dodge Charger 500, southern car, buckets/console, new paint in and out, new vinyl roof, rest is scattered in the basement of the house all needing done says it comes with a partially assembled 383-was sold thanks for your interest

I checked out the engine, its just a block with loose pistons, crank, heads timing cover and oil pan. Going through the parts-the floor console is missing-looks like the rest is there-

RE: 70 Charger

I talked with the wife of the owner. If it's the same car I saw a couple of years ago, it was done up the road in a back yard built from 3 different cars. I'd do some research on this one first. The hood already has paint missing on the drivers side corner. I'd say it was done in "resale red" for a reason. Just my 2 cents.

The owner is 21 years old lives with his mother-yes must be the same car-paint chips on the hood corners left side, was a blue car from the states-theres a picture book of what was done-ya no high point show car but a good solid start with the dirty work done I think $8000 will do it, he paid the guy (Francis) $14,000 for it.

Thought it was the same one. As I said this car was restored in the backyard of a fellow just down the street from where it is. Careful, careful.

I made a deal with the owner to sell it, I will post at $9900 but $8000 will do it-the car is at my place to view.

Ken is there a fender tag or build sheet? What was the original color? Frame rails & spring perches solid? How about the tail light panel?

no build sheet, fender tag may be in the boxes of stuff, car was blue with black interior no vinyl roof, undercarriage is very good (Virginia Car) had a trunk pan and right front floor pan (have a picture album though the bodywork-contacted the bodyman Dan Orlowski-did the car 5-6 years ago he says), rest is still covered in factory undercoat (too bad) the torsion bar mounts look real nice, the rear frame rails are nice, the suspension and bushings appear all new too. The taillight panel is nice, the lower rear valance does not appear to have been repaired does have a few dents now from on/off trailers I guess

looks like a good deal ,ive seen unstarted projects asking as much as that or more?

I think most guys would rather see a car together but with the dirty work done-I agree this is a bargain-I'll keep it out of the advertising for a couple more days (for the flippers) but I will post it come the weekend, if it doesn't sell I'll try to get it to Mopar fest. There has been interest-one guy just looking to build a 1/4 mile car, another with a customer looking to clone to a 440 six pack, another car builder, a dealer and a guy looking to trade stuff-not bad for 12 hours of word of mouth-I haven't had that much action on the TA in 10 months of advertising !

Dan Orlowski out on Forks Road painted the car close to five years ago, pictures show the floor sandblasted etc...

I hear the first guy ran out of money selling to the second that flipped it to the young guy.

Don't we all, eh? I've been trying to sell 3 cars that I've had in storage for almost 2 years (and see no chance of ever getting them done) and all I've had is trade offers on stuff I don't want.

Ya, thats what I get with the 83 Trans Am-I wanna sell but I want cash-they offer a trade-I have an open mind but its never of any interest.

update on the Charger-body guy says the fender tag has to be here someplace-says it was a special order blue color code 999 on the tag-he also said to check out that rusty engine block because it was matching when it left his shop-I'll update you on that tommorrow. He was very upbeat about the car telling me his customer sold it to Francis who sold it to this young guy-and would likely be interested in seeing/purchasing again-amazing the interest in the car ( no money yet though !) I do have a London guy hot on it-might end up your way.

update on the engine block, just the cylinder walls are rusty, been tanked, new frost plugs etc... machine shop said honed and decked if that matters now-anyway its a 5 26 70 block but the v.i.n. sequence does not match-guess someone got that-anyway good date on the block-but are we really going to build a 383 car ? 440 ? hemi clone ? I had it up in the air-in my opinion its very nice under there.

The code 999 is pretty rare as it's "Petty" blue.

Code 999 is not petty blue.
999 is for any non-stock colour.
