The Kap Lumberjack Heritage Festival was one of the best events we have ever attended. The two concerts were great evening entertainment . The number of people walking around on sat afternoon compared to a Sat at the Barrie flea
market a few years ago. The car show area was packed with spectators on Sat. Congratulations to the organizers and volunteers who donated their time to put on such a remarkable weekend. A few of the events held were a lumberjack competition, horse pull, antique machinery cutting trees into lumber, native display of teepees and dances and lots of activities for kids.  The 55 ran excellent to Kap and back to Timmins and now has 97,501 miles. On the way to Kap we stopped and gave a boost to a stranded motorist who was sitting on the side of the highway with his hood up. I got him running and digagnosed a faulty alternator that was only putting out 9.5 volts. He was close enough to Timmins so I told him not to shut it off, turn everything inside the truck off and drive it to one of the automotive parts stores in town and have his alternator voltage tested again before replacing it.

I have been telling all my friends about the great weekend we had and I am sure  registration for the car show will be higher next year. No trophies which I think is a good idea but everybody that enters gets a souvenier licence plate and prizes are randomly draw and ever entrant gets one. I won a King vibrating cut off saw kit a tool that was on my to buy list.

Great job 65acadiantoplist

Al

Haven't been able to attend for a few years now but this festival is rated in the top 50 in Ontario.
The car show is just a part of the entire weekend celebration.
The car show has always been well attended and well organized.
Hope to see you next year.
Ted
