RE: 67 SD396 Convertible on Ebay

I somehow missed this post the first time around.  I agree with Norm 100%.  Anyone who loves and appreciates these cars is qualified to own them as far as I am concerned, regardless of where they live.  In fact, owners outside Canada are perhaps doing these cars a greater service, think how much more difficult it is to get parts and service, they are required to be more determined and dedicated to do things we take for granted, and when they are done they act as great ambassadors, spreading the CP story far wider than we ever could.

Very well said. I have owned my Beaumont for over 6 1/2 years. I researched them for a couple months before I bought it. I love these cars and enjoy telling others what I know about them. I have taken mine to 12 or 15 all Chevelle shows in the eastern half of the US in the last few years. I hauled it over 1600 miles round trip to the CanAm show last year because I knew there would be several more Beaumonts there. BeaumontBill has a big help with info when I fisrt bought the car. I drove 8 hours round trip to spend 3 or 4 hours at a show in Chattanooga Tennessee mainly because I knew Bill would be there and wanted to meet him and see his 67 SD convertible. If I had the money I would love to have this car. If you think Beaumonts get attention in Canada and in the northern US states where they are people that know of them you should see the attention they get down here. Most people have never heard of them or only seen a couple in magazines. I get some strange comments and questions. As I said above, I love these cars.
James

Well summarized.
One guys opinion but...It all kind of reminds me of when Toronto first won the World Series. While everyone understood that it could possibly happen one day, still there were a number of "pureists" (sp?) in the USA that just somehow felt it was too bad that it left American soil.   What makes it far easier for us is that American owners like yourself, BeaumontBill, etc, remain connected to the group and we can still keep updated on the cars. (Kind of like reading/watching Gretzky, Messier, playing for another team etc.)
Thanks for staying connected. Merry Christmas to our "non-Canadian son-in-laws". (Please continue to be good to our little Canadian GM daughters.)

Here is my question to everyone. I offered you all the option of giving me a downpayment to hold the car. Why didn't anyone at least come forward and at least say David I am very interested in the car, hold onto it for me. Now that it is sold everyone is saying that they are ready for it now. You should have jumped on it then, you know these cars pretty much never come up for sale.

The car is staying in Canada. I really wish I could have kept it so maybe condolences rather then congratulations is a better word to say.

Our condolences to the loss of your love no   I hope it goes to a good home!(pontiac lover home)     I wish I could have steped up, and spoke for it, but  I didn't think a 100.00 deposit was going to HELP you   and believe me 100.00 is a stretch for us today...

Well Dave condolences (or congrats), either way it is what it is... hopefully you are happy with what you got for it, and you didnt have to 'fire-sale' it...

Someone always comes out after the sale, shoulda woulda coulda...

Hopefully we'll see the car around, either as is or restored and the owner will join this site, it will be a fun car to track....

The new owner is already on the site but wants to remain anonymous for now. It will be restored.

I never make an offer/make a deal/ or leave a deposit unless I'm prepared to purchase at that time-I can't say for sure my 66 is gone until money is in my hand (a guy from the site said he'd be back this week for it) and I can't say for sure I would be in the mood to buy if I did complete my transaction. Yes-I would like to own it-but I also like to create hype to the new owner by say "ditto" Congrats on the sale-its great news to hear you were able to move it-I couldn't believe how much I was promoting this car and nobody was biting-some of the suggested purchase prices were unbelievable-now keep that Cheetah under your hat and run to it the day its available !

66 isn't gone yet-he's contacted a couple times since he was here before Christmas but not heard from him in a week or so. I'm a little less excited with David's car gone

69 Camaro is a good buy in any condition-hot market (lighter now)

buy the best car you can afford it'll pay you back in the long run.

Carl's car is a nice buy

kinda hard to go wrong at $5000 for a 69 Camaro-even if you "flip" and reinvest into a Canadian Pontiac !

if your not interested let me know
