As was referred to earlier, there is no such thing as a 'Corvette' rally wheel, other than when talking about the wider ones. They were available on almost everything Chevrolet in various widths and rim diameters.

And, as you all know, they were available on certain Canadian Pontiacs with a 'special' non-Chevy centre cap.

I missed voting, busy lately, But when I get a Beaumont I'll be running Rally II's. For me they are a distinguished wheel that would immediately shout NOT A CHEVELLE and definitely show the car's PONTIAC HERITAGE. (again not trying to start the debate).

Yeah, just seemed easier to call them that.  If I call them Rallye's, am I refering to the Chev Rallye style or the Pontiac Rallye style?  Probably shouldn't call them Chev Rallye's as they also came on the Beaumont which is neither a Chev nor a Pontiac (ou-oh, don't want to open that can of worms!)  If I call them GM Rallye's, could I be referring to the Pontiac Ralley's?  If I call them Camaro Rallye's, am I refering to 14", as opposed to Corvette Rallye's which are 15"?  Etc...

As a side comment... After recently being in the market for a hood spear for the 66, these two photo's show the difference between a Beau hood spear and that of a Chevelle.  Different shape, and the Beau is a little longer I believe?...

Another side comment, that blue Beuamont has the Chevrolet Turbo-Jet 396 fender flash. I heard once it was a customer installed option.wink

I hear ya!  That was my initial thinking as well.  But along the same lines, I'm now thinking by putting on a wheel that wasn't an option for the Beaumont line almost shouts "NOT A BEAUMONT"?

I've heard that too, but I think it was a home mod done by those that were not happy with the simple square "V8" emblem which did not distinguish the big block from the 283, 327 etc  .  (427CARL may know as there is one on the 396 67SD convertible that he used to own?)

I think alot of BBC beaumont guys were dissapointed that they couldnt show off the engine size and put the cross-flags on... there's a few for sale like that right now...

I have to admit, although i'd never put pontiac rallys on a beaumont, that 66 butternut yellow one does look very sharp!! chevelle style rallys are just too plentiful... Bills red convertible wears the PO1s with pride! and looks great doing it!!

does anyone have a build sheet from 66 or 67 that indicates it came with rally wheel option??

ak

Good question.  (From what I've heard, I'm thinking no one will have one for the '66?)
