Anybody here familiar with 69-70 full size Comfortron automatic AC

Just had my AC recharged on my 69 Parisienne. Compressor is good, clutch engages, no leaks and the system is full of refrigerant. I can get it to blow cold only if I disconnect the automatic controls system which consists of a temperature sensors, resistors, switches and vacuum controls connnected to a series of doors which open or close to admit or prevent outside air. But as near as I can tell the auto control unit is not working. Does anyone know how to fix these things, or a source of parts? Any advice appreciated.

Oh wow. I always feared that in my 69 Grande Parisienne but it never hiccuped. Not sure about parts but I suspect a lot of the stuff will be the same as the US models, wouldn't you think?

Do you have a service manual for it?

Yes, I do have the factory manual for 69 Pontiac. I also have a complete 69 Caprice comforton unit from a parts car I scrapped 5 years ago - but actually the control system is significantly different so it will be of no help.

The control system on the Pontiac is pretty sophisticated and complex as far as I can see. I'm hoping I can locate some NOS spare parts, but if not I'll take it all apart over the winter, find out why it doesn't work and hopefully fix it.

On the upside I operated the air doors manually today with the AC on and it blew ice cold at 46 degrees F, so I know the AC works - just need to get all the doors working the way they should.

If anyone has 69-70 Pontiac AC parts please let me know - US Comfortron applications should be the same.

If I recall I have an NOS automatic a/c control unit for a 70.  My basement is packed up as I'm doing a reno, but I'm sure I can find it if you're interest.  It's got the burled elm woodgrain.

Thx. I'll PM you after I get further along with this; not sure if it is the control on the dash, or the control module on the system box that is the issue.
