RE: 1964 Cadillac - $2,000

And that's why you can beat him down on the price, you can't ask much for a car that doesn't run.  I'm with Earl, that thing looks incredibly solid.  Are the seats complete and rip-free? Geezus, it even has factory air! And it's got that classy Mad Men tuxedo and white colour scheme you like. wink  A weekend of spit and polish and we'll have that thing looking great!  Here's what you do, leave it till October when he'll be desperate to get rid of it.  Use CAA to tow it down to Joe's and I'll bet he'll have it running in no time flat without any major expense either.  Then we will just move it right across the yard and into storage.winkwink

Ray, your total bang for the buck getting this car is going to be way better than the marginal performance gain you will get by putting that 400 small block in the Lemans, unless you are going to get Joe to do a performance rebuild on it first, and if you do, then that it is going to end up being way more in the end than getting the Caddy.

I'll look at that ramp stuff on the weekend and we can discuss it at Thornhill.smile

Hillar, you are reading my mind, that's the plan I've had in the back of my mind all along.

This car is good, when he popped the hood I was shocked actaully but I never let him see. That underhood area is super solid, look at the engine, very clean and grease free. It even has the original small glass windshield washer bottle. There is one small tear in the side of the drivers seat but the black cloth on the seats has this really nice pattern running through it PLUS all the trim is in the trunk with a few spare pieces too. No hub caps but they are pretty common to find at swaps.

Drove by today, and snapped a drive by photo, just as I expected, it hasn't moved an inch. I like it when a plan unfolds...

Sure seems like a decent deal but if it's been sitting a while it can turn into a money pit, fuel system, cooling system, brakes etc.

Not to be negative but don't want you going into it blind...

Yup, fuel system is toast, gel. That's why it won't go. It's a project car no illusions on this one.

That will keep the price down! Fuel system is an easy fix. Hubcaps are cheap and plentiful.
Keep in touch with the owner so you can get a feel for his breaking point.
