It would appear Jerel was there. Sure looks like his 64 convert with the Canadian Poncho shirt!

Did anyone happen to take a good look at the white/black top 66 Grande Parisenne 4 speed car?

I think someone showed an ad on here before when it was for sale?  I'm not positive though?
Didn't get a chance to meet the owner

Yes Jerel did make it.

I looked at the GP.
Without touching it (wheel wells etc.) It looked solid but tired.
Looks like rust showing around rear window trim.
GP stickers on front fenders.
Tough to say whether it's really in the 20k range now.
Looks good enough to get there eventually.

Rick

Rick

Could I give you a call about it? I'd like to ask a few more questions.

If so, you can PM me if you like. If not, no problem.

Not sure the final tally, I heard someone say 1100-1200, but that was a guess....  I also heard they had to turn some away... I would've been pi##ed after driving that far and not getting in.

Good job on the pictures Ken. I had taken a few, mostly of tags but I think you got them all covered. I was too busy getting through to see all the cars. Was good to meet you at the end and also had a good visit again with Rick. Was well worth the 12 hours of driving to see a thousand or more cars you've never seen before. Also gives me more confidence in my car as I get closer to 4000 miles on it. I remember a comment Johan had made quite a few months ago how much better his car ran the more he drove it and man that's been the case for me too. It's actually quite weird because it doesn't make sense to me. It runs so much smoother and probably uses a third less gas and I haven't really done anything to it. Had sort of a neat story as I only knew 1 person at this show which was Rick. I got there fairly early and they had us lined up on the street before they were ready on the golf course. Two guys pulled in behind me, 1 with a 442 and the other with a Cuda rag. Talked quite awhile with the Cuda guy while the other guy went someplace else. When he came back he really looked familiar to me but couldn't place him. Anyhow 20 minutes later they have us parked on the course and they are right beside me and I get talking to him again. I seemed familiar to him too and I remembered who he worked for and I was right and then it twigged me our daughters had played soccer against each other about 6 years previous in Calgary and Kelowna and we had billetted his daughter when they were in Kelowna. Such a small world when with more than a thousand cars there he would be right next to me. Anyhow to me it just sort of added to the event.

It was good to see Jerel again, we had a good chat and I'm glad he enjoyed it.

I have always had a good time at this show. Many years we have gone for the full week-end experience and always enjoyed it. The weather can be marginal at some points in the week-end, we have driven through snow more than once, but still found it worthwhile.
If you ever want to go for sure, try booking a room or condo rental early.

It was good to meet you as well Jerel, Its great to finally put a face to someone you may have only known thru the computor...
I think the BelAir needs tires though, it ran Great, but had a shake around 70mph, although, around 110mph, it felt fine

Oh, that answers that question.

Guess you didn't get to meet Jerel if that's the case.

I thought I saw all of the cars there so at least I know I didn't miss you. It was neat getting there early I just pulled up a chair and watched probably 6 - 7 hundred of the cars pull in. Hearing how they sound in alot of cases is better than just walking by and seeing them sitting. Lots of good rumbles.

If a car show has only one entrance, it's a great place to be if you can get there early enough!

I have sat at the entrance to the show real early with my video camera more than once at POCI conventions.

Hey, I keep hearing stories about that black Merc having some sort of forced air induction and that it can actually spin the tires.....

Can't be true stories cause it's not a Canadian Poncho!

Thanks for posting lots of GM cars. Especially liked the black 62 Catalina, the 66 427 Parisienne, the 56 Chevy Bel Bir wagon and the green 69 Grand Parisienne, which I think sold on kijiji a while ago.
